Probably the most playable these games have been on PC but desperately needs some fixes.

The contrast in the darker locations for both games are unplayable at times and surprising to have been play tested and given a thumbs up. Even with turning the monitor brightness and contrast up its not nice to look at. Can't be adjusted in game as there are no graphical options. Even console games have a slider to check the light and dark values.

Experienced a save file corruption late into Soul Reaver 1. Fell out of bounds in a corridor, exited the game and went to reload. Now it will just crash the game and i gotta gamble another 5 hours, ....no. Try and make multiple save files I guess, but i don't know if that would fix whatever problem my game is having.

Happily come back to it after some updates.

Ran and completed on the higher settings for 1080p and no ray tracing using my i5-9600k and RTX 2060.

Avoided it due to the many red flags of its performance but picked it up on sale and it ran acceptably for me. It had plenty of stutter moments, mostly when switching to the menu. Could be my specs or could be the flaws many have pointed out so far.

Despite that, mostly it ran smooth where it counted and didn't find the performance dips that noticeable or detracting. But I also got it on a deep discount which certainly helps being a bit more accepting.

Story is fine, gameplay and customisation were fun for me and kept me hooked just as the previous entry did. Wasn't too interested in the side content like the aquarium, gardening or whatever the conversations in the bar were, but the adventuring and exploring were worth the purchase.

Personally hope the third is a more tighter experience than open world with side missions, but it really wasn't that bad.

Redownloaded 3 times atleast. Each time it just tries connecting and then gives up i guess leaving me to click and create blue circles to the main theme tune.

Always avoided these games because they look like micro-transaction hell. Not bought a football game since the N64 (ISS 98) either so no expert on it at all.

But buying it on sale and just playing the basic matches and checking out the women's league stuff has been good fun. Played it loads and not seen ads like Street Fighter V would show between matches and not seen DLC/Micro-transaction impulse buys like what Assassin Creed, Age of Empires 3 and other games would do on their main menu screens.

No experience of how it differs from previous year releases and can't speak for the actual micro-transaction side of the game, but as someone playing it fresh it has been surprisingly very enjoyable!

Just feels like a ping pong game with text boxes. Just bouncing back and forth to the same spots over and over and over again repeating basic fetch quests. Just started watching/listening to other media to get through the repetitiveness as the skim reading turned to just skipping mundane character interactions.

It is nice seeing a very basic development of the town and locations as you progress but its so much longer than it needs to be. If it was a short 5 hour or so experience i think it would be nice. But it really is artificially lengthened by constant retreading ground.

Still hopeful for the upcoming game. Loved Suikoden 1 +2.

Achievements no longer work for 2 and 3 and I found the third entry to be lesser quality. Enemies were getting stuck in walls forcing save reloads, t-poses and buggy way points.

Aside from that the collection runs really well and is very enjoyable. Was worth the replay.

For the price it all costs it really shouldn't have bugs where your household just stops doing anything, refuses anymore actions and stares at the walls like it was attacked by the Blair Witch. Deserves to be free to play.

Keep coming back to it, own worst enemy.

Love troubleshooting the EA app not acknowledging i own the game cause of its dog**** launcher ruining the experience

This is the most fun i've had with a game in awhile. As i saw others comment, this really does feel like the Hot Shots version of Metal Gear Solid. Luckily for me I love both those franchises.

Great soundtrack, great humour and controls really well. The visuals are easy on the eye too, unlike what i found with the Castlevania GBA recent re-releases. I find pixel art hit or miss but the (camera?) view and sprite sizes work really well here.

I never got into playing Metal Gear 2 although I always wanted to, now i realise I love this kind of game play. I might have to load up my MGS3 disc again!!

The long downloads are bad enough but its so much worse that it maps the X button on my ps4 controller to open web pages on every press. This means it limits what you can play while this downloads in the background. Want to use your game pad on a game while this downloads a random 40gb+ at 3mb/s every other week? (even though your download speeds anywhere else are much faster!) Nope!, it'll just minimise the window and open up the homepage. Using mouse and keyboard on other games is fine.

Its a good sim for a casual player like me, all i want is to chill out and fly somewhere but I must have only had about 10 game play out of the 232 hour game time.

Still, i do like it i suppose. Or at least i remember it being fun the last time it was updated?

Edit
Changing to a negative, the way this game updates is a joke.

Edit 2024
Figured I'd download again, managed to get 5gb done untill I see it going backwards? dropping to only 1.70gb downloaded and then climbing again. Not only is the download system terrible but it is also on a bungee cord??? Wish I could refund this.....

Try and download it again, now it crashes steam on launch, endless nightmare

40 hours flight time, 400 hours download, corrupt, reinstall, play?, update, corrupt, uninstall, download...... :'(

------

July2024

Can't refund it, i'll try and see if it will download now again.

7am - start download

11 am - 9 out of 128gb downloaded

1pm - 7 out of 128gb downloaded

aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha aha

After 2 solid days of downloading it loads up, ok fine. Wait....the wing of the plane is pink........
