Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is the followup to the 2018 Owlcat game Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Former Dungeons and Dragons Module maker Paizo, created a large world that Owlcat games uses as the playground for their near immaculate CRPG experiences. Ultimately WotR and Kingmaker are adaptations of the Pen and Paper modules, but Owlcat does a great job translating the Pathfinder text into a fluid, fun and adaptable gaming experince.

PROS
- Good use of the Pathfinder world and Lore. Its obvious that the fine folks at Owlcat loved diving into the world of Golarion.
- Expansive Character creation options and nearly unlimited character build options.
- Adaptive turnbased or realitime combat that is easily toggled on or off. Every CRPG needs to take a look at this (I'm looking at you Baldur's Gate 3) and consider implementing this hybrid system.
- Cool Artstyle, Its more of a traditional medieval fantasy setting very much in line with the Baldur's Gate games of the late 90s/Early 2000s
- Mythic Paths that actually significantly change the gameplay AND story
- Easily Modded. Mods are fun, and are a great way to extend the life of a game.

CONS:
- Occasional glitches, I have not come across anything gamebreaking yet in either the Early access or the base game, but the odd thing does pop up.
- Crusades could be more in depth. As an avid strategy gamer this mode feels a bit bare bones, but it isn't the main focus so it's forgivable.
- Character creation/build can be daunting for the uninitiated. I play D&D and understand the systems that are being used and even I got a bit overwhelmed at first. If you are completely new to D&D/Pathfinder/CRPGs then this might be too much, but it is definitely worth it if you can stick it out and learn.

Overall this is a great experience with deep game with hundreds of potential hours of playtime. You'll want to try the good and evil playthroughs and potentially many times through each to see how the different Mythic Paths change things.

Overall: 9.3/10 - 2021 Game of the Year Candidate for me
