They built upon the amazing Elex, and somehow managed to make it look worse on the Unreal Engine.

The trolls are scary, and they're everywhere. 10/10.

I feel this game is a schizophrenic experience, and not really worth of your time. The game aims to introduce base building and looting into Fallout franchise, and fails miserably. Inventory management, and micromanaging your bases are terrible, and game interrupts you every now or then to tell your bases are under attack. Go defend your base! Most of the story dialogue sucks balls, and there are no role-playing elements to speak of. Only thing that kept me playing this long was the post-apocalyptic setting, and Fallout's history of being a good game. I wanted to give it a chance, but in the end I don't know if it was worth it.

Green Hell is a survival game. You find yourself from an Amazonian jungle without much knowledge of how to survive, with hazardous wilderness around you. You're only one small mistake away from that life-threatening disaster which will end your sorry life. However, through trial and error, and exploring your surroundings, you start to learn about the plants and animals around you. This knowledge will help you to survive, and then start to build your own base, where you can seriously start preparing for longer distance exploration, Take your time and keep your cool, and you'll be fine. Mostly.

The game has persistent environment, day-and-night and weather cycles, which will affect many things during your play. Without rain for many days, you might find yourself parched and unable to take care of your hygiene, thus affecting you negatively in multiple ways. Maybe you can find some dirty water, and make it drinkable. Maybe you can find some fruits that give you some hydration and buy you some extra time. When rain finally arrives, for example some recesses might temporarily fill with water to drink, or wash the dirt off you.

The game includes a story mode (which I wholeheartedly recommend to play on normal difficulty on the first playthrough), a co-op and survival mode. The game is totally fully playable as a solo game. I haven't encountered any bugs so far, and performance is decent on a GTX1070. This game has emphasis on survival, and not on base building or combat. The game surely have these elements also, but it's not the main driver of the gameplay. The story is well put together, in my opinion, too.

The game continues the story of what happened in Far Cry 5. It's a post-apocalyptic setting, which is quite different from FC5. Otherwise the two games quite similar gameplay wise, you liberate outposts and do sidequests. The weapons are different and there are less vehicles to choose from. You also get an upgradeable base, and crafting options. The main villains seem to be less interesting that the Seed family in FC5, they're your typical "evil" douche-bag villains.

NieR:Automata took me completely by surprise – I didn't expect it to be such a gem. The game looked a bit drab and low poly in the screenshots. But after playing it I found it to be probably one of the best games I've ever played in my 25 years of gaming. NieR:Automata is simply mastery of the videogame medium and archievement in storytelling. I can wholeheartedly recommend this game for everyone.

On the technical side, even if the game ran perfectly for me, the port is not working for everyone and to be on the safe side it might be a good idea to buy the game from a place that has a refund policy in place. Oh yeah and don't stop playing at the first ending, or you'll miss two thirds of the game.

What's a shame though, is that there is only one DLC for the game so far. Maybe we will get a remake of an earlier NieR game sometime soon?

Review after 4 hours of gameplay:

The game has a certain 80's or 90's flavor to it, with it's desolate landscapes and sandbox gameplay. NMS is certainly something unique and ambitious. It also has the pitfalls of a procedurally generated game.

On technical side, my rig:

Xeon E3-1230 c3 @3.30GHz
R9 270X 4GB
8GB RAM
Fast SSD
Win 10

- getting steady 30-40 fps on 1920x1200, Catalyst 16.8.2, GPU 99% utilized
- no crashes or any kind of trouble
- in this game anisotropic filtering seems strangely to have a huge performance impact, drop it to 2x

ABZU is more a relaxing, unique art experience or a tech demo, than a game – though there are some puzzles and story elements in it. The game is well optimized and playable with mouse+keyboard even if a controller is recommended by the devs.

The new Doom is very faithful for the first two. Even iddqd and idkfa are back as console commands. The gunplay is intense and fast paced with pumpin' soundtrack. Some new guns and an increase in platform jumping. I'd recommend starting with the highest available difficulty if you're a seasoned FPS veteran, otherwise you'll miss half the fun because the lower ones are just too easy. Like with other iD software games, updating your gfx drivers to the newest beta drivers is recommended. You don't want to end up playing this one under 60fps... If you're not running on the latest hardware, better be prepared to lower some settings for some fps.

Here's my review based on these two episodes that are out now – Sierra has done an amazing job bringing King's Quest back! Animation, voice acting, story and controls are all top notch. The puzzles are enjoyable and funny, and pretty logical compared to some 90's adventure games where sometimes only way to progress was to try every item in the inventory to every object in the game.

Episode two is quite a lot different from the first episode. The first episode outshines ep.2, which is way shorter than the first one and felt more like a sidequest between main story quests. It had it's moments though.

Episode one is a steal at Steam winter sale (0.99€) so grab it now. As a minus you better be prepared to dish out more of your money for a season pass later, you've been warned.
