For when you want an intense experience that challenges your reflexes and skill, but don't want to deal with the pressure of PvP.

I played some of the beta weekends and am a veteran gamer so don't think i'm new, but heres my experience trying to play solo.

Die to a bear that came out of nowhere. Spend forever running to get back. Die to wolves on the way there.

Run around at night, no gamma option so can't see ♥♥♥♥. Die to bear at night.

Spend way too long looking for the exact 3 by 3 foot spot to advance the mission.

Run half way across the map because the big red circle didn't show up until night time, making me think the den was close to the spawn where the only marking on the map was (big orange circle for some reason).

Go to mission site to kill wolf. Be forced to fight boss wolf at night. Stab in the face literally 20 times with bone knife, die.

Try to stealth to get my stuff from my spawn point 200 feet away. 6 wolves spawn and chase my defenseless self back to base. They kill me and destroy my base so I can't respawn.

I feel like there is no counter play to wolves and bears just running at you and murdering you, and there is way too much time spent running through the map bored out of your mind.

I'm sure they wanted me to spend more time grinding up and equip myself with armor and etc but considering you can't bring anything back to the ship they are encouraging you to try to speedrun it, especially with how long the missions normally takes.

It would have been better if this game had never been made, because I wouldn't have felt as disappointed when I completed it. The entire campaign i was asking myself "Well, I haven't seen it all yet, maybe there is something inspiring left to see?"

Spoiler alert - there wasn't.

Take subnautica, replace all the green scenery with blue, take the blue sky and make it gray. Add a forgettable character with a forgetable story line, and take away all the whimsy.

If this was a standalone game I'd probably give it an 8, but how could they have taken such a step backwards when the original was so good?

It's like playing a battle in Mount And Blade except all the soldiers are players and there are no AI. Epic is released in a few days from this post (Sept 1) which is supposed to be like the big stratgic map from Mount And Blade .. again with no AI.
