Sony reversed decision.

Helldivers 2 is one of the most fair 'live service' games with an ever evolving story. If you like co-op shooters. This could be the game for you.

Maybe the game will be patched but the game pretty much requires a controller to play. However the game does not seem to allow a controller.

I was able to kinda get the controller to work via having Steam treat it like it was a keyboard and mouse. (However it still wouldn't get one of the sticks working correctly which is required to play) The controller I was using was just a basic run of the mill X-Box controller.

While I would recommend the game as it is the conclusion of what I consider the best total war games ever made, and frankly a 'perfect' game in what it does. This game isn't without flaws.

First lets address the fact that this is mostly a 'stand alone' expansion of the last two games. Which doesn't at this current moment in time have access to the content from the other two games. What that means really is the game is completely unfinished and honestly buying it before "Immortal Empires" is really just for fans whom 'can't wait'.

Now the good is honestly the races are some of the best made ever in the series (Even if none of them are for me) and the addition of the domination multiplayer mode. Negatives being honestly minor settlement battles.

Now the factions are all great, even if every last one of them has a major flaw. (Which is good design in all cases but Cathy) Khorne is all melee and punches hard, controlling battlefield by inducing rage. Slaanesh is super fast, but super squishy flankers. Nurgle is slow, but of high HP and just wants to slowly grind away opponents, Tzeentch is (mostly) all range and all magic. Though he is much more 'balanced' then the other Chaos factions. Ogres are low unit count monsterous infantry which hits hard and are tanky. Kislev is hybrid fighters which are decent at melee and range but not the best at either. Then finally Cathy is based around a harmony mechanic which honestly only hinders the faction, but honestly easily fixed by just extending it's range.

Minor settlement battles however are the most obnoxious slogs I've ever played in any total war game. All the ones I've played have had 4 or 5 small enterances only one unit wide causing all battles to become a slog at the enterances. Terrible pathing, and half the time the terrain you click becomes unpathable. I've not even got into the 'tower defence' mechanics of walls magically phasing out of no where splitting armies in two. Or causing units given a 'move order' to suddenly change directions and run half way around the map out of control. This wouldn't be so bad if the battle type was semi-infrequent but no, this is the battle type you'll be fighting 95% of the time going forward. Especially as the AI mostly just sits in their settlements now until they see a weakness and bullrush it with 2 or 3 full stacks.

I right more about the negatives because that is what I am feeling the most frustration on. It is what causes the most pain to me and has grinded a lot of the 'fun' out of what is otherwise a great game.
