Enjoying this far more than I thought I would as a very very casual Trekkie.

it wants the vibe of the 2000s rpg and to be fair it's probably got that.
But the graphics, OMG, how anybody can look beyond them is unbelievable to me.
Ugly, clunky, blocky. Retro would be a polite word but I'm here aching for someone to remake Ultima Underworld to modern graphics not take a decent game and take it back to those days.
I'm sure this will be very popular with many but I shouldn't in 2024 be asking for a remake of a 2024 game

It's the same.
But better.
For whatever reason the usually underwhelming changes to this game actually seem to work and it's much more immersive than previous and for that reason I'm enjoying it and playing it more.
So if you are someone who skips may I suggest this is one you don't?

The more this moves away from the original books, the less I'm keen but this is a solid effort and for fans of gamebooks in the 80s who might have missed these later arrivals it's a chance to revisit. Developers keep working at it which is excellent and hopefully more books may appear.

Given how 2020, and now 2021 has been my expectations were low yet SI have somehow delivered something more than the database update and given us an engine that runs at a speed. Everything just seems a little better this year which when you look at other similar annual games (looking at you FIFA, Madden) is brilliant. Only issue is that bug squashing and other quirks (leaderboards are simply broken) have been released and show no signs of being patched. That said the overall experience is a surprise to an old cynic like myself, so I heartily recommend..

I cannot recommend this dated and dull murder mystery. Controls are not friendly to the PC and the main point of the game seems more to be hunting for hidden dresses than solving anything. The deduce model is woefully underemployed and the lack of freedom is suffocating.
The source material is a TV show which I hadn't heard of and therefore I can only conclude that this appeals to fans of that show. That being said I would have expected voice performances rather than the text (so hard to skip?) and audio rubbish that this game gives.
Overall totally unsatisfactory and not a surprise the third wasn't made.

EDIT: I did persist and finally complete the game. However my enjoyment was tainted by trying to avoid game-ending bugs.

Really enjoyed this game, but had to restart 3 times after accidently playing differently to intended and breaking the game. However I played as the game intended the third time but was left with a cutscene bug which replicated itself despite replaying a whole day's worth of game twice. One bug too many sadly and I had to uninstall.

When you have to restart the tutorial several times over you know there's an issue somewhere...

I mean it's free (as far as that goes) and it's a card game so you know what's coming.

Maybe it's because I'm stuck on the starter packs, or the starter packs with allies, but I find it all a little too random with the decks and even then I win more often than not which can't be right. I should be thrashed!

People suggesting there's any history to be learnt from this frankly need to stick to wikipedia editing - whilst it's got some basics I would hardly suggest I learnt anything!

Anyway, it's free so give it a go and maybe if you are less cynical than me you might find a game worth playing. Just don't expect it to be anything it's not this is a strictly 2/5 game.

As solid as always so have to recommend, but to be honest the game has hardly moved forward at a speed comparable to Football Manager as the game graphics are merely functional. They should make the leap to make the game more immersive
