TL;DR: This is too much randomness and no way to mitigate the randomness.

Maybe I'm not the demographic for this game. Normally I like simulator-type games, and I get the concepts in the game. But.. this is just too hard to get a positive win condition. My last play-through, I had unlocked 2 different ways to win, "The Sadness of Violence" and "The Saved Life". I also got "The color that Should not exist" victory path, but after thinking about it over 5 times, I just gave up trying to get it to work.
For the Sadness of Violence path, you need Sadness or Melancholy which have a 20 second timer. as well as 2 2+memories. When I get Sadness, I don't have the memories. By the time I try to get memories, Sadness evolves and I no longer have the condition I need, and now I'm even worse off. When I get the memories, I don't get Sadness or Melancholy. So you either grind to be miserable hoping to get one of 2 conditions needed out of the 64 conditions,
For "The Life Saved" path, you need 1 of 2 specific green feelings, but without a consistent way to get those feelings you just keep grinding away, hoping to unlock one of them. This is also not mentioning that both end conditions need to have 10 passion (which this game have few ways to give you that, but if you skip and save, then you can eke by) as well as 24 reputation. So to get one, you need to spend the other.
I had 1 play-through end because I died of poverty, because I had Abstinence and it wouldn't let me go to the dark alleys to sell my booze. There is no way to mitigate any of the randomness that this game has, and therefore no way to plan what you'll do. Things just happen to you, and it's all just a crap shoot what you get. I need help, I go to the doctor, he says there's nothing wrong with you when I have a mortal wound, or worse, you're going to die, takes more money and doesn't do anything else. Or, I need health, I'll go to the park where the game says to go to get health, but instead, I break a leg. My dude lived into his 30's and broke his leg 4 times. Every 3rd time I went to the ocean, I got a minor ailment because the guy forgot to wear a coat. I survived a mortal wound, went to the park to get more health, and then got a minor ailment, and that turned into a Major illness. It's 100% reaction based. No way to plan or set up for future turns.
