Hate to say it, but it's a soulless, greedy, micro transaction riddled, live service dumpster fire. Somehow manages to be both over and under designed at the same time. Doesn't feel like Killing Floor at all. Stick with Killing Floor 2, or even 1.

The original Risk of Rain was something of a hidden gem that was very overshadowed by Risk of Rain 2. But the original had a very particular charm with it's pixel graphics and amazing, haunting music. Risk of Rain Returns is a fantastic remake of the OG game. Graphics and controls are massively improved and that same haunting soundtrack has never been better. With Gearbox's poor handling of Risk of Rain 2 and the dissolving of Hopoo Games, I find that Returns is a bit of comfort food. It really is a special title in the Rogue-like space and I'm so glad to see it preserved this way.

Insanely difficult. Lose your plane and there's no reason to continue. It even punishes you for using the 'slow time' function if you need help.

Fun old Co-op hack and slash still getting updates on occasion despite it's age. Sadly most of the player base is gone.
I hate the books.

This game has the most wretched combat system I've ever had to deal with. It fools you into thinking there's some kind of technique or finesse involved but all you can really do is stand there waiting for enemies to swing so you can parry and MAYBE get a hit in. Most amusingly it has a combo system that is utterly useless because if you EVER try to take a swing your target will simply parry you and get a bunch of free hits.
