This game allows me to live out my childhood fantasies of flying an X-wing and blowing up an Imperial Star Destroyer.

Campaign is pretty decent, comparatively to other Star Wars games, mostly a long tutorial to teach you the depth of mechanics in the game, which is a good thing.

The multiplayer had some issues at Launch but has had steady improvements and already a big balance patch that makes fleet battles more enjoyable. Dogfights are fun if the initial fight is even, but if your team gets wiped in the initial sparring, then you all respawn far from one another and will have a tough time regrouping instead of getting picked off 1 by 1; but I think they'll either tune how respawning works or the spawn points to address this in the future.

All in All, easily a spiritual successor to X-wing Alliance or X-wing vs Tie Fighter - if only they had built it to be as generic and moddable as the originals then the game would have everlasting life. This game is good for its price tag, but its probably just a matter of time until Squadrons 2 comes out and blows this one out of the water.

Easily the best game to play with someone who doesn't play video games as much as you do.

This game, if you let it, will suck up all your spare gaming time. The best part is: You can do whatever you want. The only hard part is figuring out what it is you want to do.
