I'm a bit over 200 hours in and having a blast. This is Bethesda so it's the yes, sarcastic yes, yes but pay me and I'll be back later options for most dialog.

Having said that, there are some new mechanics that are really a treat. Lock picking is vastly improved from older titles.

The universe is new, and fun. It's the early days of space travel and humanity is not everywhere. There are a lot of side quests and things to keep you interested. Space ship design is fun and seeing cinematics with your ship is a treat.

Nothing is perfect and there are some bugs, some sync issues with dialog and lips, loading screens and a few missing options.

Creations fixes a lot of them.

I don't buy Bethesda on release but this title is mature enough to be a good time solo in Space. Be the generic hero to get all the quests. Or be a pirate, or be a hero pirate... lots to do and see and an interesting manufacturing system with bases, planets and minable reasources.

This is the first survival game I've played that feels like a story, not just a setting. The game keeps you progressing through the gear levels, and the first few hurt. It feels like the first cloths you've ever made and they look bad.

As you get more experience, materials and unlocks you get to some really satisfying gear, and you start to see how deep the crafting system is. What you make your stuff out of matters.

The game desperately needs Craft from Inventory.
Legendary drops are neat, but getting enough to make something is a pain.
The upgrades system is fun, but many of the items are too large to fit in the base.
Companions are helpful, when given gear. They can haul and fight.
The voice acting on Puck is a blast. Would be nice to see a deeper companion controll system and other voiced characters.

The setting is amazing, absolutely beautiful, but also a ton of fun. Be the Victorian horde grabbing everything in you sights.

This is a no brainer at $30, should cost two or three times as much.

Wow,

This game is chill and enjoyable. A great way to wind down at the end of the day.

Astechetically its gorgeous, stylized and clean. You learn the visual language of the game and you spend a lot of time looking over the world to spot the various points of interest.

The game let's you in easy and allows for multiple replays with more difficult rules and larger random maps.

The story is light but entertaining and doesn't interfere with replay.

The buildings and cities are customizable and you can enjoy hours of getting form and function to blend while you grow.

This game is a heap of fun, unless you are afraid of deep water.

Hands down the best Han Solo simulator online, anywhere.

This game is fantastic. Giant universe filled with things to do. Beautiful detailed space ships, environments, stations. Just enough sim without too much.

Get a HOTAS and voice attack and live your best space life.

Ever watch an Alien movie and think, man if that were just a bit more harsh and unforgiving with people as the enemies and no space bugs?

Ever want to live in space with a level of tech that doesn't make it easy? Doable, just not la de da Star Trek simple?

Like Newtonian physics? Counting your air and having to work to keep the lights on?

Want to take some stuff from another player?

Hellion may be for you. The learning curve is steep. Other players may help you. Or kill you for that oxygen you are hoarding.

Game play is first person only and deeply engaging. Control your ship, salvage and build a space station, repair said space station regularly.

Hellion gives you a whole solar system to play in. There are ruins of the civilization that was meant to be that you can pick through for materials, or dodge as they hurtle past or through your ship.

Sentry guns, pistols, rifles, fabrication, mining, and hide and seek with the other players.

Bases are always in game, but thanks to the orbital mechanics you can put them where they are hard to find. No magic building tool, just finding salvage and using it.

Start with very little, build to get more.

There are some bugs yet, but they are worth putting up with. This game is stupidly fun.

The game is still very young and there are serious issues with the physics, I've been killed climbing my ship and going up stairs. Having said that these bare bones are awesome. Build an airship, shoot people who irritate you, make friends, explore.

I have issues with heights, and this game gets me sweating, but you just have to do it and not think too hard about what specifically you are doing.

It's epic fun.

Ever wonder if you could have fun while playing a bilge pump simulator? Turns out you can. Blackwake is just detailed enough without being tedious. That pump might be all that is keeping your ship afloat. The game has muskets, cannons, ramming, destructible ships, pirate screams, it's absurdly fun.

On the graphics side I'm impressed. You can see peeling pain and woodgrain. You won't have time to really sit and appriciate it but it's there and you take it in subliminally. The feeling is amazing, the swell of the see, salty air and the shake and blast of the wall next to you disintegrating and a mad pinwheel as you fly across the hold.

If you like a first person naval combat simulator this is an amazing one.

The community can get salty, but that is why we have a mute button.

Lots of teamwork, great rag doll physics, sword fights. This only needs swinging from the sails to be an Erol Flynn simulator.
