If you love Remnant 1, this is for you. If you were so so about the first one, then it's probably worth waiting for a sale, especially with all the other games released/ coming out this year.

The story is fairly basic, the game play is on par with the first one, i didn't really notice any new QOL features, and more than occasionally it seems like the hotboxes are a few feet ahead of the models but other than that it was an enjoyable game for the 20 or so hours it took to walk through the main story. Beyond the main story, there isn't much to do beyond re-running through the same areas and trying to find a boss or something that you missed.

IMO, wait for a sale, unless you love Remnant 1.

If you like the TR series you'll probably like this game. If you're looking for a 3rd person action adventure game with "open" level designs you probably won't really enjoy this. The combat is bad(ranged is meh, melee is arbitrary, hitboxes and collision are suggestions), the difficulty curve is non existent and it's mostly just running/jumping/"climbing" a bit to the next 3-4 cutscenes in a row. Would have been better as a film. maybe worth it on sale if you have nothing better to do

pretty big disappointment. The textures, meshes and scenes look amazing and there are some (like 1 or 2) neat sequences but that's where it ends. The combat is clunky, sure the canned animations are kind of show-ey and interesting, but only after the first few times. The animations overall are kinda janky, controls are a little sloppy, the story is meh (some may like it more than others) and to add a cherry, you can't skip a single cutscene which is just unacceptable in any video game. I really wanted to like this but it just becomes a chore after a certain amount of time.
Would give it a 2 outta 5. Looks great, feels bad, can't skip cutscenes. Play this if you're really into Star Wars for the story/lore and not the game play.
Also, it't not a "souls-like" please stop that.

I have a number of games in my library that i've purchased and never really played.
I think i bought Outward for $15 when it was on sale. There are some ok concepts in this, i like the whole backpack thing, but i genuinely regret purchasing this game. The "combat" is so broken and uninspired, the world is pretty some times but generally boring, the music is ok. Just not worth it, even on sale.

Early Access Review
Overally, not too bad a survival craft. Has some really nice touches but the combat is rough. Honestly, if this had the melee/fps combat system from a game like Dyling Light it'd be a true gem.
Hopefully they work it out, and i'll revisit it if they do, but as it stands i can't see spending my time in this game over others.

I don't recommend this on full price, or until the combat is updated

A masterpiece in the "rogue x" genre.
Randomized wands, spells and perks can be very rewarding or very punishing.
Extremely difficult. Take your time. Consider your moves
Makes exploration very rewarding.

Honestly, this is one of the most disappointing games i've ever played. Every game play aspect about it is average or worse. The spotty attention to detail is a nice touch, and i think is the only positive going for it which is a shame because some of the nuance is done so well.

And the controls and combat, jesus christ. The game would be ok if it weren't for these. Even when you get good at it, understand how to block, parry, and riposte it's still feels like you're flinging a wet noodle. Straight up stabbed a bandit 6 times in the head and chest with a sword while he was sleeping, just to have him stand up and beat me down. The enemies don't follow the same rules as you do, and any sense of 'realism" is lost when you remember how easy it is to actually kill someone and how difficult this game makes it. I shot another sleeping bandit point blank with a bow and arrow (after winning an archery and bow hunting competition against a noble) and the arrow literally bounced off the bandits face while he was sleeping...
Honestly, it feels like a lazy way to gate the player into making decisions the developers want you to make.

Abysmal. In this day and age, if you look to outlets like IGN or ShackNews for un-biased, non-shill reviews you're not looking in the right place. This can barely be called an ARPG let alone a good anything. Plays like the developers heard what ARPGs were second hand and kinda filled in the blanks. Shame considering it could have been so good

This game is abysmal. The controls, the visuals, eveything. I wish steam adopted the return policy that some other online distributors have because this would have gone back after the first 5 minutes of play.
