First, I have been playing Total War games since the days of the original Shogun. I had stopped buying total war games after the debacles of Empire (which turned out to be very fun but could have used additional patches) and Rome II. Originally I decided to pass on the Warhammer series because I was being stupid and thought it wouldn't be fun since it wasn't a historical Total War game.

Although late to the party, I have been very surprised, pleasantly so, at how much fun this game really is. Especially IE. Sure, there are some criticisms that can be leveled at the game but it is still getting support as of this writing and I look forward to what the developers add to it in the future. The game itself is beautiful and brings my old rig to it's knees which means I am dealing with low frames until I can build a new one but the eye candy is too good to give up. The game has a lot of depth and the differences between how each faction/race plays makes this a game I will be playing for a very long time.

If you are like me and dismissed the fantasy aspect of this game, give it a try. You may find you like it as much as I do.
