Well I had this game on my list of games to check out for a while and only recently learned that it's getting shut down. Pretty fun free to play FPS, RIP

Yes, the game has seen some better days. Yes, it still has some issues. Yes, the player count is rather low. But when you actually get a match it's pretty damn fun. I personally like how it's something between hardcore and arcade. Also love the maps a lot, especially Warsaw, Moscow and Polyarny. It always feels refreshing when you can play in more central/eastern European settings in military FPS games rather than the Middle East for 1000th time. Not sure if the game will become as popular again as during launch, but I'm gonna keep playing it with the small community that it still has.

Still the G.O.A.T of the FPS genre after all these years

It feels unreal that this game even got released. I remember being really bummed when it was initially cancelled in 2012, but here I am now playing it. 12 hours in and I still haven't left the first location as I'm mostly doing side quests, looting stashes, hunting artifacts, exploring or just hanging out with other stalkers by the campfire. Apart from the poor optimization my other complaints would be the enemy squads randomly spawning behind your back (it's especially annoying when you're trying to go back to the base with backpack full of loot), day and night cycle passing too quickly and repairing your stuff costs fortune. However, the devs already said that a huge patch is on the way as we speak, so I'm hoping all of these issues will be ironed out.

I'm going to edit this review after finishing the game to give my final thoughts.
