Game was already a year old when launched on Steam. Since then basically nothing. It's literally a shell of a game. BD is relying on modders to do everything. This game feels abandoned upon release. If you go look around you will see BD spends all his time elsewhere. Nobody uses the voice chat except to blare loud music and profanities. Mostly Russian players (which is cool except I can't understand them) with a few servers that are populated. Zero team work. Hacks. Graphics are just ok. Everyone turns it all down anyway to get that no foliage advantage. No anti cheat. Again it's literally just a shell.
It's a shame because they released at just the right time with ICO hurting Squad to take advantage of that but they released and walked away while pimping out a bunch of other games on you tube. I have since migrated back to Squad and found the Global Escalation mod. Way better and feature rich.

What a great game. More in depth than you think by a long shot. Don't let the look fool ya, it's brutal. In a great way! Once you figure out the combat and flow of the game you will see all the possibilities this game can offer. You will get frustrated and you will die A LOT. No worries. The forums can help you along your way as this game really does have a wonderful forum community. I know what you're thinking but it's true. Be respectful and you will see.

Definitely suggest this one!

Don't waste your time. It was supposed to be the next best thing to the genre. It ain't.

Long development time, total loss of focus towards starter goals. Wasting time on developing STD'S, bondage, prostitution, and everything dildos rather than keybinding, performance and actual content. Metabolism and cooking have been forever broken. Performance is horrible. Big cities are lag fest and basically unplayable. Hacks are there. Teams rule the servers. Solo players will suffer.
It is NOTHING like the trailers and videos. That is a whole bunch of talking about what they "want to do" vs what they are actually doing. The only thing that is reality is the crapping, pissing and other dumb stuff that is filler for shallow minds.
Official server loot is just bad. It's not realistic it's masochistic. Nothing is remotely realistic so get past that. It's a grind fest or you go to high loot servers where you get more of the same game play but more loot. Large teams of "Ch ese" that raid all night with hacks, exploits and groups. They control the server loot areas. All day, all night. You will get scraps but you won't control anything. You WILL get crushed. Your time WILL be wasted. Make no mistake. This isn't Rust. You WILL suffer unless you team.
Forum is a drone fest. Be careful they have thin skin. Moderator. She's not real good with humor, context or anything cool really. She's a stick in the mud. Or dildo in the mud in this case. ; ) Maybe that's the problem. Needs a good ride.

It was cool for a month or two. That is all it's good for. It will never be a long term title. EA is it's life cycle. Every new update get's the game to about 10k actual players and then a month later it's 5k. There it sits forever. Upon release it will die a quiet lonely death after a couple months with some old die hard's hanging onto the corpse cause it's the greatest survival game eva!!!!

We got planes!!! That shoot dildos!!!!!! Fortnite had planes 3 years ago. Dildos are for .......

Game overall is ok. Artwork is cool. Has potential but is boring after a few hours. Very repetitive. Developers are super woke and edgy cool so expect to be silenced and banned in forums for not supporting their supporting the destruction of the western world. Hinterland has fallen prey to both recent scams in society and are pushing their viewpoints onto consumers. Conform and support or be silent. I say get woke go broke.

I have a lot more hours in this game before it came to Steam. I was a paying member from near closed beta start.
It's a fun game and I enjoy the building of the vehicles, gameplay, graphics etc. It's a lot of fun. But I agree with many who have stated that it is pay to win. Sort of anyway.

You can have a great time for free just playing and leveling slowly. But if you want to get everything out of the game you will have to shell out some big bucks. I had a 20 dollar starter pack through closed beta and it's been fun but I'm at the level I can't really progress in reasonable time without buying with more real money. I will never get the best stuff just playing. The matchmaking is a complete joke and as a new player you are going to be getting seal clubbed a lot.

I would recommend the game and I do. Just realize that you will have to spend A LOT of real cash to get the whole game and play with the big boys. Think War Thunder for car building and fighting. I guess that's just the Gajin business model. If you want all the content get a second job or just enjoy the free version for what it is. You CAN win at lower levels I do it all the time. But it will take you a bit to figure it out as a new player. Try to stay low tier at first and just play.

It has some good music too when you are in the garage! Some of the best original stuff. Not on par with Squad's music but nice just the same.

The truth is simple. If it runs for you it is awesome fun. But it doesn't for many. Devs don't have a clue as to how to fix it. Server restart! Player base has shrunk since release into EA and 175th place on steam charts currently. It's a flop. Purchasers tried to make the game run for themselves, went past the 2 hours and were refused a refund because of that. That's where the bitterness comes from in the community. I get it though.. if it runs for you then F everyone else right???

Community is trash. You have to be careful in the forums or you will get a ban real easy for negativity towards the game. Get on board with the idea that you know wtf you are buying into because that will be all you hear from the people that it runs well for. It's Early Access, git gud, update that potato.

Players left and might return one day when they hear news that the game has become other than what it is now. A huge gamble. I don't think so.

Step right up and roll the dice my friends.

I just checked back in after deciding that the ICO; Infantry Combat Overhaul 6.0 update was complete trash and quit playing. 7.0 is here and it's still complete trash. OWI ruined Squad. 7500 people playing on a weekend. Most of those players are a bunch of woke kids with purple hair and pronouns that scream into the mic constantly. Nobody knows how to play anymore because all the vets left this steaming pile of poo for something else.

I have since moved on to Operation Harsh Doorstop. It's the new Squad. Free, excellent gun play, mod support, vehicles, etc. If you are still looking for that old Squad feel this is the game you need to be playing. Leave the wokeness behind and come join us on the Harsh Doorstop servers.

Since the epic loot update this game is epic ♥♥♥♥.

Don't support these devs any longer. Go read what the devs think about their long time players. Absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I tried to stay in and support them but this latest update is just stupid. The attitude of the developers is horrible and the community is going down fast. Very dissapointing to say the least. It used to be a great game full of creativity. Not so much now.

I wish I could find a better way to put into words my disgust and review of this game but honestly all I want to say is a big ol f u c k you to the devs. So yeah..... F U C K Y O U DEVS!!! Especially that douche Sebastiano.

Don't listen to the negative reviewers. Just look at the time they spent on the demo to see they have no idea what they are doing or saying. Try it out for yourself and go from there.

I've been away from racing sims for a long while but I came across a friend who has been doing the iracing thing so we decided to try rfactor 2 demo. I was an avid rfactor 1 racer, along with many other actual "sims" back in the day....all the way back to GPL. I was a beta tester for Iracing for a couple years so I sort of know a few things about racing sims.

Having said that.... We are just having a blast hotlapping for times against each other on toban in the different cars. I suspect we will do this for a bit longer until we just buy Rfactor 2 and go crazy with the mods and whatnot.

The Force Feedback is much better that Rfactor 1 and my old G25 is rocking right along. No need for a 500.00 wheel. But you DO need a wheel and YOU NEED TO SPEND SOME TIME SETTING IT UP!!! If you are the type of person who won't or can't spend the time to invest in your settings you will NEVER get what you want out of any real racing sim. Period. It can be complicated to get those settings right as there are lots of variables and wheels. But there are lots of resources for you to reference to make that happen, unless you have the patience and attention span of a child. Which I suspect a lot of the negative reviews come from. Yep I just said that. Hate it if ya want to but it's true. If you think you can just hit the G27 button and off ya go, you are sorely mistaken. Just look at my time in the demo and consider it took me one evening to set my wheel up perfectly while hotlapping. But you have to do it.

I'm not even going to go into the other stuff like graphics and performance because that can vary between pc's and mine is rocking this sim. Intel I5 4690k @ stock speeds, 16 GB ram and an R9 8GB GPU. Not a stutter in sight. Flawless at full everything. Looks so sweet!

Can't comment about the online racing but I suspect it is as it has always been.... depends on who you race with and the server you race on. Wreckers and asshats are part of online racing like hackers are so if you want serious racing get in a league and make a commitment to race. End of story. Or put your big boy pants on and hope for the best in general population servers. No whiners allowed after the fact, you were warned.

I believe ISI is in it for the long haul and this sim will get better and better. The mods that are available make it well worth the price. Just look at Rfactor central for the list of mods and tracks. Pretty awesome and right on par with the community I always knew and loved.

I was a little surprised at the subscription fee as Rfactor 1 didn't have it but at 12.00 a year that is pennies compared to Iracing. Not knocking Iracing just saying. Different business model and I like this one much better.

I'm sure I will purchase this sim in the very near future as I'm hooked again. It's just awesome!
