This game is OK. I wouldn't consider it notably better or worse than the genre average. The price isn't that high, so if you like the genre it's worth getting on sale at least.

I have a major pet peeve about games that seem to assume you'll identify with various relationships without setting them up. I'm not here to have some god child I've never met complain about things that happened off-screen. This is frustrating because I've been wanting a good story game and this one managed to piss me off inside of 30 minutes.

Great game, but be warned. It's very difficult to beat, and many runs will likely end in horrible death. Every now and then, though, a character survives, and it's quite rewarding. Plus it has endings that are absolutely ridiculous to get if you get to the point where you're just beating it. Generally speaking, ranged characters are easier than melee ones, and pro tip never punch a karmic lizard.

Maybe it's just the mood I'm in right now, but I found this fairly boring.

This game is pretty fun, but sadly it had some stability issues. One crash was bad enough to lock up the computer and cost a ton of loot from the mission, which naturally felt terrible. Very unfortunate because I was enjoying it for the most part.

*Mild direction of the story spoiler warning* I wanted to like this game, but to be honest it's an embarrassment to the franchise. It was clearly made largely for the online, so the campaign storyline is pretty incoherent. In most of the previous games, you start at the bottom and work your way up from errand boy to the top of the pile. None of that happens here. There's no clear villain like Tenpenny or the Forelli's and no clear goal. You just kind of meander around then eventually you have the choice to kill some guys who were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Also, small gripe, but the radio has a surprisingly limited range. The game is set in 2013, but the radio lacks a serious EDM station and the rock and alternative are limited. The only genre that is well-represented is Hip-hop. This is fine, but the previous games had much more range on the radio. All and all the game is reasonably fun, but the storyline isn't a GTA game. If you're into the online get it, but if you liked the previous storytelling Rockstar did, then stay away.

It's a short game, but the exploration and music are great. The time just flew by and I was finished before I knew it.

*Update* OK, the expansion packs really fixed a lot of what was wrong with the game. They also added some solid challenge with apocalypse mode and dramatic ages. The current Civ 6 has become a great game with solid depth and complexity.
