I bought this for myself and 3 friends for some hack and slash action with cool puzzles. Now, the puzzles are fine. Not very complicated which is good when you at the same time is bombarded with enemies. The problem with this game is the hack and slash part. It's just not compelling or versatile. It falls flat. Every enemy takes a lot of hits which just makes them annoying rather than scary and fun.

The different characters doesn't feel very appealing and the RPG elements are limited and boring.

Me nor my friends could recommend this.

It has some nostalgia to it but there is new games you can play.

You move fast, everything has a classic feel and look to it but there ain't many players and it does have all the old flaws. One of thoes flaws is, do you know where the bazooka is? You win! Also, aiming is hard as all hell.

Jotun is a puzzle platform game without the jumping. What it got for it is the looks, ideas and the chosen mythology... nothing more really.

The puzzles are not very tricky but somewhat good. The game however has it's focus on the boss fights. The biggest problem with the boss fights are that they aren't that tricky. The times I had a problem, it was because I couldn't see myself or the fact that the controls can be slightly slow on reacting. The fighting feels stiff and awkward. This is on purpose I think to make the fights more focused on timing rather than mashing a button. I think this is a good choice but it does feel a bit off at times. Making it as previously stated, stiff and awkward.

The looks are good but the pictures give you a sense of hugeness that is not there the same way “in game”. They do however have some great visual moments. One such occasion is when you can see a big statue in the distance, way bellow you and it turns out to be the boss. COOL!

The game is short and they try to elongate this by having trophies that are like: kill boss without taking any dam. This is for some people but not me and I think not for most.

I do not regret buying this game and it isn't bad. Not bad does unfortunately not mean recommended in my book. Now this thumbs down is to be honest, slightly harsh and if you are on the edge of should I or should I not, then buy it on sale. At the end of it all though, I can't recommend it.

I had loads of fun with this game the first 20h. after that the fact that there isn't that many weapons or enemies (always the same end boss for example) makes it tedious. The game also don't have controller support which of course is a downfall in these kind of games. I would like if you could put in how many zombies will come and how strong they are. That way you could choose few and strong or ridiculously many but dies from one hit.

I don't recommend this since it exists funnier games with the same stile, like resident evil and left 4 dead.

Too be fair, I do believe there is some great modding out there and I have tried some myself. Unfortunately it's mostly cosmetic changes or everyone, friends and foe, becomes superhuman.

There is a cute premise here and I do believe that children of 8-12 would enjoy it. It is however short, it does not have full controller support and the fighting is awkward.

There Isn't much more to say. Why I don't recommend this is mostly because there is plenty of better platform games for kids to play. I hope the devs makes something more fine tuned next time.

This is a fast pase shooter from older days. You might enjoy it if you like the newer call of duty games but I'm not one of them. I will give this a VERY subjective thumbs down.

This is one of those games I just barely can't recommend. The biggest flaw is the fact that it's part 1 of a bigger game. I'm fine with games being in parts but you need every part to stand by itself. This feels more like a prologue to the actual game.

The positives are the characters. They are varied, funny and have some depth (but the game is too short for any real character building). The only problem with them is that you have to replay the game 6 times, once for every character, to actually get there story.

This is as the developer say, a story focused JRPG with interesting and intriguing choices. But the choices are way to few. Several times I waited to make a choice and the story did it for me. I think that if you got to play all characters stories at the same time (you play with all of them any way) this feeling might not have occurred.

Now for game play. The mechanics I felt were good but the variety of enemies where low... really low. And most of it where cosmetic ones. Only the fairies felt like they where different and even the secret boss wasn't unique, just bigger and stronger.

I have to point out the fact that it was one of the few non-sexist games I ever played. All characters were of different sexes and it only mattered for sexual preferences. That's all to rare to see even in this day and age.

Visually it was mostly really nice. I did think some of the things stuck out a bit. Most of the time I enjoyed it though but wish for bigger areas in the future.

To sum this up. Hopefully I can recommend a bundle when all parts of this game is out. It has huge potential and I will definitely give the second part a chance. I enjoyed my first play through almost entirely so if you really miss a JRPG, pick it up. I can however, as thumbs down shows, not recommend it as a standalone game.

I've actually played this game offline for something like 4 hours. So don't mind the few minutes showing by stream.

In short. This is a boardgame focusing on randomness, cuteness and anybody-can-win-at-any-time mentality. This might suit some but I assume they're drunk. The fun part is of course if you have friends who rage, then you laugh at them. The problem with this focus is that there is almost no tactics to it. This means almost no actual gameplay but more watching and hoping.

Other faults is the board. There is just squares with different colors with a moving background. No creativity put in that part. The artwork of the cards are also slightly off. Like the artist can almost do it well but not really.

What I did like was the idea with individual cards, different boards and the childish and funny characters/story.

Maybe I'm hard on it because I only played the story mode when it clearly shines its best in multiplayer. Either way, I do not recommend it.

The enhanced edition has made some slight improvements in mechanics that really helps. They have also put in some stuff from BG2 which is nice. The new art style is horrible though and the new characters are lousy.

The character creation is the thing they really improved upon and I love it. Finally the ranger can be a good archer, finally I can use 2 swords, finally paladins are... well, paladins are still useless.

If you never played this game before there are some things you want to know. This is a game with low levels. Your mage will be über-helpfull but wont be a source of epic power. You will have to get a team of six characters which by themselves wont do much, but together will rock. The gameplay in this RPG is focused on tactics and balance between the characters in your team. This is no hack&slash no brainer. Not to say that it is major brainer, but still. It is a game with good story, funny side characters and entertaining gameplay.

Overall, this is still one of the best RPG ever!

PS: It works on LINUX!
