Regarding Dark Souls. All the classes have the potential to be exactly the same depending on how you build them. Just pick one you like. I prefer a good dodge over heavy armor and the master key lets you get to places earlier than you would be able to otherwise, so I usually go with thief.

The game is hard, but everything is avoidable once you learn the enemies abilities. Good luck.
