not really much of an upgrade

i just want to escape from normal prisons, not trains, boats, moonbases, ww2 internment camps and what not

This DLC is basically a infinite money cheat and a extra minigame.
If you get this DLC and interact with it you will never have to worry about money again, for better and for worse.
Which is fine, but you lose out on one of the main challenges of the game if you do.

yeah its good, but everyone knows that.
bit expensive i think as there isnt really that much content or replayability, but pretty cheap when you get it for free.

Pretty good game.
About 28 hours to beat on a semi completionist playthrough taking my time.

Im gonna compare it to Nier Automata since thats what most people will do and the game itself is in love with Nier and takes huge amounts of inspiration from it.
As far as im concerned Stellar Blade blows Nier Automata out of the water on many levels.

Where Stellar Blade is better:

Better waifu. Eve is hotter, has both bigger and better butt and boobs. There are also more mods. However she does not have a sexy attitude and is pretty submissive.
Better combat system. Stellar Blade actually has one with a fairly deep combo list. Nier had one too, but it was far more basic and never really needed. Here it is. However it falls apart when you have to fight multiple enemies and becomes frustrating.
Story. The story is more heartfelt and engaging in Stellar Blade. Nier relied on mystery and emotional setpiece moments more than a easy to digest and relate to storyline.
Better sidekick characters, but its very easy to beat 9S.
Better cosmetics. There are so many from outfits, jewelry, glasses to hair.

Where Nier Automata is better:

Music. Cant beat Nier for music.
Side characters. Stellar Blade does not have any interesting ones, so Pascal wins by default.
Build variety. Both games are pretty bad at it, but you can do more with the various programs in Nier than you can with the Spines and what not in Stellar Blade.
Story Impact. I said Stellar Blade has the overall better story, but Nier is miles better at delivering impact and setpiece pacing. The story is better in Stellar Blade, but i feel more in love with the Nier story anyway.
Alternative Game Modes. Such as the hacking minigame, top down shooter segments and etc. Stellar Blade tries to do this also, at times it becomes a FPS for instance, but its shallow and falls flat.
Weapon variety. Stellar Blade only has one weapon.

Play both imo.
But i would suggest waiting for the modding scene to develop further. I only had one good outfit where Eves boobs were twice the size of her head with a dumptruck behind.
If you wait you might have a whole wardrobe!

Comfy game.
AI drivers are pretty bad and very angry, you can tell they are thirdworlders.

Really bland soulslike with a bland storyline.
Storyline is just the same as the 1st game, only less interesting.
No cool and memorable setpieces like the AT-AT from the 1st one.
13 billion collectathon systems, but none of them give you any rewards that are actually worth it.
Same deal with the levelup system, theres probably around 100 skills, but you wont really be using any of them.
Enemies are generally too tanky and strong, you dont feel like a Jedi.
Characters are decent, but all female characters are extremely poorly done with zero depth or nuance.

Well worth it when free.

Comfy.
Helps me work better which was what i was hoping for.
Acts kinda like a relief valve to restless energy, but only has enough things to do for a few seconds at a time in terms of distractions. So i dont get lost ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ endlessly on some forum instead or reading something.

Its okay.
Its got the Dungeon Keeper feel & gameplay, its got the narrator and its got fairly decent monsters.
What it does not have are enough maps and i have no idea why.
Across all the DLC and the main game there are just a handful of maps and they are really quick, some just 15 minutes long. But they are really basic, uncomplicated, straightforwards.
I dont understand why they couldnt just make more of them when theres so little effort put into them.

mostly ♥♥♥♥ maps where you have to rush and hold capture points
