To be blunt, there’s no prize for figuring out that Coromon is a Pokemon clone. But don’t let your eyes glaze over yet!

As a Pokemon fan, I rate Coromon highly. It’s not better than Pokemon, but it’s not worse either. Coromon faithfully follows the tried and tested blueprint laid down by the pioneer in this genre. However, the beauty of this game is in its execution.

The core story feels fresh and fun, the music is memorable, the pixel art monsters look great and the world map is a joy to explore!

The reworking of certain game ideas feels innovative, such as the way in which 'shiny' (potent or perfect) Coromon offer the player improved stats instead of just being aesthetically different. There’s more depth to it than that but I’ll leave it as a surprise! Also, instead of having a limited number of times that a move can be used by a monster, every monster now has its own stamina bar which depletes as you use its moves. The more powerful a move, the more stamina it uses. It’s also nice to have a menu that allows very detailed customisation in the way the game plays. From choosing how fast you want the dialogue text to pass by to how fast the battles play out, you decide. You even decide how brutal or gentle a battle loss treats you. If you want your monster to run away and leave your party permanently due to losing a fight, you can do that!

My only complaint is that I wish there were more Coromon species along with more elemental types. So basically, more content please. But what is currently in the game feels adequate for the time being.

In summary, if you can think of Coromon as a keen and bright little brother to the Pokemon universe, and not a competitor, you will like it. You won’t regret giving it a chance!

This game uses the survival instinct very well. Simple objectives, but well thought out and loads of fun.

This is much like Sim City but easier to play and with more powerful tools. The graphics are well polished, and the ability to change the camera angle makes for a great city watching experience. Some good new ideas as well.

CS:GO Review
Great game! If there was anyone who didn't like CS Source because you had to wait till the match was over until you got to play again after dying, then this is for you. It's counter strike, but deathmatch, and loads more options. Have fun, and dont kill the carrot!
