I have to say, playing this game for a some time now 20+ hours I think it's about time I gave my review. I will say though, even after 20 hours I still consider myself a novice. So first of, the game is very addicting. There has been sessions where I started playing after work and didn't stop untill I had to go to bed (You are warned). If you are thinking you just bought another CoD shooter, your quite wrong. It's more similiar to Battlefield 1942, but with more focus on comms and your individual roles. The game play is rather easy. A WASD-FPS-shooter and the layout or abilities that you have I would say is rather bland compared to other shooters, but where this game excels is at the team play.

Are you anti-social? Doesn't matter, get a mic and talk with your squad! This game is all about communication and how you and your team navigates with the intel thats been given to you. Your commander and squad leaders will love you if you just give them some info from time to time. "Enemy close at our six!", "Enemy tank closing in 200m", "I need supplies, can you drop some?". Fast and easy info is the way to go.

Some negatives:
-The buildings and roads doesn't interact as much. Hit with a RPG missle? Doesn't matter. That wooden box will withstand until the end of times.
-Running simulator at times
-Some maps are a little unbalanced (thinking of Omaha beach in particular)

Positives:
-The games can last anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours. It depends on the maps and game modes you play.
-I actually feel like I value my characters life a bit more then other shooters. I can't go blasting in with guns firing if I want to survive. I have to be stratigic, and actually do a bit of thinking.
-The most friendly community I have seen in a shooter.

All in all a great game that can waste hours of your life but you will enjoy them. If your a fan of Battlefield 1942 and other BF games I think you would like this one as well.

This game is such a classic piece of art. I've played different classic games such as Super Mario 64, Zelda ocarina of time, Jack and Dexter, Halo, etc. And I could almost argue saying this game is one of the ones that deserve a spot among them. The combat is great, the art is super memorable and the story is hilarous. If you like games like Pikmin, then this would be a good fit for you.

I have only played this game up untill the Mistlands Bio, and I would say it is quite the fun survival game. The ability to build magnificant giant bases in the different bioms are quite fun and rewarding. Going further and further is really fun. However, I think that the grind of upgrading and getting the different parts (such as Iron, Stone, Silver, etc) is such a huge strain that it becomes almost unbearable and not so rewarding. Playing this together with your mates is very fun and makes the experience super awesome. If you also enjoy playing games solo, It's pretty good. I think if you want to have a great survival game with loads of endless content (if you are into perfecting your base and such) this game is a great grab!

Great game to play with your friends. This game's story is quite the experience and I quite love the way I got dragged into the story about how and why the world got like it is in the first place.

Is it my favorite Survival game? No, but it is quite refreshing seeing things that is uniqe to the genre. If you like survival games with a great story, this game is quite worth it. Playing it with friends is so much more enjoyable than playing it solo so I suggest grabbing a mate or two.

Warning! before picking up this game, make sure that you have spare time to play it as it very, very addictive and 1 hour quite quickly becomes 4 hours.

After playing Timberborn (A kind of relaxing strategic city builder), I really wanted to get my hands on something with a bigger challenge. The problem I often come across with city builders is that after a while near end game, It gets quite stale. Having the “best” upgrades makes a game quite boring since the challenges quickly vanish. With Against the Storm, you never have this issue. I feel like the game/settlements just ends at the right time before you start having the most optimal setup which is quite refreshing, since then you don't feel that you've already mastered the game, only to quit the game since you have already achieved what you wanted.

The RNG makes no two settlements the same, whereas you have to build around what you get and what you have. The RNG might be quite unforgivable, always waiting for the correct building to appear, but it never does. However, this makes the city building part challenging in a good way. You have to be smart about your layout and structural buildings in order to succeed.

I think that the strengths of this game is that it has a lot of depth, where it is up to the player to know which kinds of resources you have and how to best optimize them. This means that mastering the game is something that isn't done within 2 hours, relying on the same tactic with each settlement. Instead your often forced to do something you haven't done before in order to succeed.

All in all it is quite refreshing seeing a city builder with this unique level of depth, and I am excited to see what the future for this game brings. If your into city builders/simulation/tactic games, then I highly suggest you pick this up. If your new to the genre, this game might come of as quite difficult.

This game is good, but even better with MODs. Do yourself a favor and buy this game if you wanna have killing teletubbies

The story was really great, I havent tried the online version yet though. I gotta say the story is really nice and I really like how the story played out. However I am kind of sad of the ending that was given as I dont feel the story was justified over how it ended. That said I am happy with the story and the unique exploration given and I cant say I have played a game like this before, and that I will probobly come back to play it another time in the future.
