Praise the Sun! Elden Ring is From Software's best game. Believe the hype; it really is a masterpiece.

- Do you like Dark Souls 1, 2, 3 or Bloodborne? If so, Elden Ring is a MUST buy. It is From Software's magnum opus and an absolute triumph of modern creativity and game design.
- Have you wanted to play a Souls game but felt put off by the difficulty? Elden Ring is highly recommended; it is the most accessible game for newcomers to the Souls-likes genre because there are so many more ways to approach each challenge the game presents. In earlier Souls games, some very difficult bosses would act as gatekeepers to progress through the game, forcing players to have to endure constant trial and error until they finally beat the boss. However, in Elden Ring, these sorts of scenarios are much less common. I mean, no one's stopping you from trying that boss for the 100th time yet again, but it's great fun trying new things out and it feels so satisfying when those trials succeed. Also, if all else fails, you can spend hours exploring the massive open world to gain levels, obtain new weapons, spells, and battle tactics and then come back to absolutely smash that troublesome boss that was doing your head in. I find myself doing this anyway because exploring the world is an absolute joy.
- Do you like challenging adventure games? Elden Ring is absolutely recommended. It scratches the itch in ways you never thought possible.
- Do you just want to switch off and takes things easy after a long day? Maybe give this game a miss; this game needs your attention, effort, creativity and resolve. You need to be able to take that 20th "You Died" screen on the chin.

I could write an essay gushing about every aspect of the game and why each one is so special that it makes me fall in love with video games all over again, but I honestly don't want to spoil anything for anyone reading this. Sometimes it's best to just absorb the experience, and, oh, what an experience it is!

The only issue I've had with the game is stuttering and frame drops, which can get rather annoying and frustrating. Thankfully this doesn't happen too often. Please double check machine specs before purchase.

I would also recommend playing this game with a controller; mouse and keyboard support is available and it's much better than previous Souls games, but imho Elden Ring, like all Souls games, is best played on a controller.
