This game is waaaaay better than people give it credit.

The three "epochs" feel weird at first, and kind of take away from the 4x-ness of the series, but it creates a lot more opportunities for risk-taking early and mid-game. This version has more quests/events/triggers that makes it feel more like an RPG, esp. with the leveling and points systems, but they make each game more varied.

The diplomacy is much better, and you know exactly how and why others act/react the way they do. The AI still pretty atrocious though, and seems to know what you're up to all the time.

The UI is also atrocious, and most game mechanics you have to rely on Discord/Reddit to figure out. Civilopedia is missing a lot of information.

Not as ground-breaking as Civ 4 was to the series, but I'd say better than 5 and 6.

This experience is strangely magical, gorgeously designed, and very well-written. Though less of a game and more of an interactive experience similar to Gone Home, you take in the story and the art direction as an experience. This game doesn't really feature much of any kind of play, doesn't feature puzzles or twitch-style action. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the odd story that's KY:0.

Unfortunately the game hasn't ended yet / been fully released yet.
