I feel like the vast majority of people of have actually played this game are saying the same thing, but I'll add to it. It's a good game, ignore the thick layer of whine. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. Is it worth your time playing? Definitely. I've played all the Dragon Age games to death, and this one is clearly taking its cues from DA2 and Mass Effect, but it's a solid story, well told, and plays well.

The good:
Excellent graphics
Mostly great voice acting
Decent continuation of the story
Excellent gameplay. It's not the tactical CRPG experience that DA:O was, but as it's own thing, it's genuinely fun to play.

The Meh:
The game is clearly aiming for a broad audience, and that can rankle. In particular, the writing can veer toward Gen Z/Alpha therapy talk a bit. Rook and Taash were the most egregious for this, but it's something of a preference. I've heard my teenage students talking just like it, so I think the problem is likely with me, not the other way round.

The bad:
The game is a marked tonal shift from particularly DA:O and DA2. It's not the Disney story some of the commentariat on here are pretending it is, but it's a much more high fantasy setting than it started out as. So, don't expect that nasty world side of things, this Thedas is a much more colour and sex blind place than you might expect. Personally, I found this a bit jarring and missing one of the things that set the DA series apart a bit from other fantasy.

Ultimately, if you want to play Mass Effect in the Dragon Age setting, this game is everything you want. If you don't want that, it's still actually a good game. Go in knowing what to expect and you'll enjoy yourself. Go in wanting to play DA:O again, and well, that game still exists. Play that instead.

Quirky but well told game, (very) loosely based on the Journey to the West, with some big names behind it. Writing by Alex Garland, motion capture from Andy Serkis. Some great storytelling and characters, with a solid fighting system and a slightly overdone platforming element. Took me a while to get to it, but it's fairly short and a good way to spend 10 or so hours! Runs great on the Deck.

Great, relaxing, cute, game. It's short, especially if you treat it as a puzzle game, but it's lack of urgency and charm make up for it. 9/10, would feed a sea cow and penguin again.

Challenging and charming little indie defence/colony sim. You'll die, a lot. You won't even always know why. But you'll keep coming back, and you also won't even always know why. Definite recommend.

This game deserves some praise. It's brave, very well made, and beautiful. It's fairly clear that a lot more effort went on designing the world and the gameplay than the writing, for sure, but the voice acting and the story are functional, if not exactly inspiring. It may lack the polish and development of a AAA studio title with their huge budgets, but it's extremely fun to play, the space combat flows wonderfully, and it doesn't pad itself unnecessarily. Expect about 15-20 hours of playtime for one run through, and just enjoy the experience.

Despite some bad press from some truly strange people, this game remains a VR staple and an excellent introductory title. Dodge bullets, fall forward through cover that can't support weight in real life while hiding from bullets, and feel truly badass when you get a sequence just right. The game is very short though, so probably wait for a sale.

This is a smooth, well made, graphically excellent, game. The storyline is charming and well paced, and the characters are all excellently written. It hits with significantly more emotional weight than a game about misfit space mercenaries trying to save the galaxy should. I was genuinely moved at points, and that's not something I expected when buying this game, which I assumed was going to be entirely shooty-shooty and wisecracks! There is plenty of that, but there is a story with actual depth pulling it all along too.

It probably should be noted that this isn't a movie tie-in and the backstory of the characters does not follow the MCU versions, which is in many ways nice. It allows the characters more freedom and their own and doesn't tie them to the more familiar storylines of the movies. It also allows those who haven't read the comics (i.e., me) a chance to explore a new world.

One niggling thing you might want to know in advance - if you're a completionist, make sure you don't start a new game to collect things you missed. The lore objects get all bugged out and you will not be able to get the achievement related to them. I assume a new game+ would be fine, but it's something to keep in mind if you want all those achievements and don't want extra frustration.
