I sunk a lot of my life playing this game.
The editor let me create missions that I spent weeks of my life making only to play on by myself or maybe a friend or two at max.
DayZ came out and the game blew up in popularity. The mod is still to this day better than the standalone game that came after it. Some of, if not my best gaming moments came from the DayZ mod. The constant fear of other players taking the hours of your life that you and your friends spent hunting for gear. It was every thing brutal about Armas over serious shooting mechanics mixed with zombies and human being devolving to their worst. I saw the normalcy go from teaming up to shooting on sight. The only players that were nice to you were the ones conning you into turning your back on them. I teamed up and built bases and flew helicopters full of supplies over all the chaos. I will always talk about the adventures I had in that mod.

After that I played in the Arma 2 RP community for more time than I can imagine. I like to think what we did there inspired a lot of the RP communities you saw in Arma 3 and than into GTA5 and other games. We turned cops and robbers into way more and I would never laugh harder at any other game over the stupid situations that always over escalated out of everyone's hands.
Great game, even better memories. Support the series but there is nothing it can offer you that the new game can't

This game you are staring at maps and numbers that turn different colors based on who is wining. There is no special effects or intense battle scenes.
This game is more a WW2 map simulation that I love messing with the very in depth alternative history that you can go down for just about any nation in the world plus a ton of mods that expand upon it. You can sink an entire day improving your army and nation just to see how it will do in the adventual war that is brewing.

An awesome turn based strategy game that had me hours debating every move I made hoping to keep my best units alive. You learn the names of your best as you go down different skill trees for their classes and face more difficult enemies that always out number you.
Very addictive.

The best mod to have ever existed. Thank you for all the great memories and desperate zombie hold outs. Try playing as the original zombie for the best experience.

Have you ever wanted to play a massive war game way too seriously? Like a small mission even with AI only take like an hour to walk to a battle that you risk getting one shotted by a stray enemy or friendly bullet? Every gun from a pistol to a jet in an area so big you'll never see everything in.
Just watch out for the 15 year old wanting you to call him sir.

I would recommend it to a trash panda and anyone else who likes fun light heart'd games with an insane RP community, a building community that you will never understand and shooting games that take them selves more serious than any other game you have ever friendly fired in.

Awesome respawn mechanics that keep the game moving forward at all times. Your skill as a squad leader can make the difference in every battle and as a command your can destroy every enemy solider with a well placed artillery strike.

4v1 where you can play as the predator, but honestly I like hunting down the player controlled predator a lot more. You have to be aware of your surroundings and watch for their ambushes while going through a series of objectives to eventually escape to the CHOPPA.
Plus nothing is cooler than blocking a predators attack with a knife while staring them in the face while ♥♥♥♥ talking.

Massive online 24/7 War where every bullet, weapon, and vehicle is player produced used from resources gathered by players. There is local chat so you can talk to those around you and the scale of battles create great gaming moments.

A game that comes off simple at first as you are to just stay alive and fight off dinosaurs and extinct creatures with dumb AI turns into a complex fantasy scifi adventure that can consume your life. Learning the ins and outs can take you ages alone before you even dive into the toxic world of public servers where if you're not part of the tribe that is crushing you will lose everything.
You will lose hours, days, months of progress over night if you play PvP online, except official servers where you won't get past the first night you log off.
Play PvE with a lot of mods, it's a better time.
Use with caution, the game is buggy and doesn't look that great at times. It's a constant grind even on high settings. Solo players lose out on a chunk of the game. There are too many maintenance tasks without mods that make it so you can't just quickly log in and start exploring.

I must also warn you that if you do end up liking this game you typically end up with around the same amount of hours I have.
