There's plenty to do, plenty to discover, and combat feels better than ever. It isn't so good that you'll never want to play another Fallout game ever again, but this is a great game by nearly all measures.

Pretty engaging scavenger hunt game that works similarly to running through vocabulary flash cards. Words are shown in English and in the language you're learning, either written as they sound or in the language itself, and all the words have an audio pronounciation you can listen to. You can even play the quiz/flash-card games based only on the sound of the words. To me the biggest downside is the lack of full sentences or grammar lessons, so as this game is right now there's no real way to learn a language at the level you would from taking a real foreign language class. If you have other resources to help you with the language and you want to spend some of your spare time doing something that feels video-gamey to make a little progress with the language, then this is probably one of your best choices right now (especially considering how expensive language-learning software can be).
