A delightful, but hectic little game with a lot of character. If you're in to the FTL style "management of chaos" games, this is in that vein. Run your WWII Lancaster into the heart of Germany in semi-historic missions, whilst fending off roving fighter squadrons, which only get more crafty as the war progresses. The loss of a crew is always disappointing, but there is a sense each time that there was something you could've done better, or would have been able to prepare for. It's a little forgiving though, as the next plane you're given will be fitted with some similar tier upgrades that your last one was.

[Updated with some additional impressions] One thing that stood out to me when playing this, was the great sense of empathy you felt with your crews. Unlike a standard flight-sim, you're much more intimitely a part of the crew's experiences. You see them when they're wounded and giving aid to eachother (or sometimes unable to); taking over for a mate who's out of action; desparately fixing broken systems under heavy fire... Although the artstyle and theme is humourous and light-hearted, I greatly enjoyed that Bomber Crew can - in at least some small way - put you in their shoes, and maybe get a sense of what these people went through.
