"Early Access" and "Beta Games" have ruined the development process. When I first bought this game I thought, "Oh hey... a survival sand box with zombies. Awesome!".

They removed the zombies.

It's really a survival sand box... and when I say sand box, I mean it's filled with children who want to kick over your sand castle you just built, because nobody likes them in real life and they need to take their aggression out. Every time the devs 'fix' something, 10 things break. Servers constantly wipe and game play has gotten to the point to where you can't play... at all.

There is no reason why you should waste any money on this game.

I would like to extend my gratitude towards FacePunch studios for one thing, though. I would like to thank them for opening my eyes into the 'beta' world. Whoever thought of the concept of opening beta games up to public use and 'gather real players opinions' on game play should be shot in the face.

Facepunch Studios: Fininsh your ****ing game, and stop listening to the public.

I know its in Beta... and thats cool. But I just played for nearly 45 mins, and encountered one zombie (Killed him but took enough damage to pass out from blood loss about 5 mins later). Not sure if this is really a zombie game, or a game trying to show off how you can interact with different things in the enviorment... yet still accomplish nothing.

Edit 2/12/15: Tried to play DayZ again. I felt as if I could have unfairly judged the game, due to lack of time spent. Maybe it was my spawn location. Maybe it was the server. Maybe the time of day. I can confirm that, no, this is just a BAD ZOMBIE GAME.

If I could rate this game as a survival game, it's awesome. Tons of interaction with the enviorment and between items. I mean, I can sanitize my water so I don't get sick when I drink it! Awesome! I can till a plot of land, plant seeds in the soil and grow myself food!

And maybe, just MAYBE, i'll see a zombie. Once every hour or so.

My name is MostlyHarmless, and I highly suggest this game.

You might ask yourself, "MostlyHarmless, why should we trust your opinion?". I might point to my +10 year badge, and tell you that is directly due to this game. Then, you will cry. Not out of sadness, no, these are tears of pure enjoyment as you bask in the glory of my 10 years of gameplay... on a single name and a single account.

Bam.

This game brings me back to when I played Shadowrun, The Card Game. A fun, interactive game, my friends and I always desired more in the plot/story line. I even went so far as to create a MUD with my friends (Showing my age there...), based on the Shadowrun Universe.

Harebrained Schemes had a home run on this title. The storyline and gameplay are wonderful, coupled with 'retro' graphics, seems like they can do no wrong!

.... Except have a soul. I bought this game on iOS first. Seemed perfect for my iPad (didn't see why I needed to waste low-end graphics on my computer).

Oh how I look back and see how innocent I was.

Paid the 8.99 for the game 3 months after it came out and a few updates ironed out a lot of the bugs. Seems like the smart way to go. Oh.. oh how innocent! Game crashes every 4-10 mins. Eventually, after grinding my way into the game (later to find out it was only about 25 mins of normal gameplay) I come to a single action that crashes the game everytime. I write into Harebrained Support and ask for a refund, due to inability to play the game. They tell me they cannot, but try Apple Support, they might be able to do something for me.

So... you want me to jump to hoops with Apple, because your game, that states 'Made for iPad'..... doesn't work on my iPad?

Long story short, thumbs up on the game, big middle finger to Harebrained Schemes. Worst company in the world, when it comes to customer relations.

Great game. If you can overlook the game engine and fighting (sometimes nearly impossible to navigate), the story line and character interaction are awesome.

Want to be a noble, nose in the sky vampire? No problem, we got you.

Want to be a vampire with an overwhelming case of 'The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazies'? We got that in spades.

I've been playing this game for a while now, and have yet beat it on 'every aspect'. Would highly suggest.
