Is this game as bad as people make it out to be?

If you approach this game and you are looking for big open worlds and tons of items and lots of interesting places to explore and cool ship building mechanics and some decent companions and stuff like that you’re going to have a great time.

If you approach this game looking for wide open empty spaces, bugs,stoic faces and dialog that sometimes isn't that great, not really an immersive world because NPC are constantly throwing player-oriented stuff at you that makes it obvious that it’s a game you’re going to find that too.

This can be a pretty bad game if you just focus on the stuff that you don’t like about it.

It can also be a pretty great game if you just focus on the stuff that you like about it.

You will get what you want out of this game.
If you want to have a bad time? You will have a terrible time.

Will you like the game? I have no clue.

Yes, I'm loving it! Even through all the issues and problems. I’m having a great time with it.

Can be good fun if you happen to be in a competent group. Lots of bugs, laggy gameplay. But that is to be expected in a earlyaccess.

Now after early access it's not even fun anymore. The piling up of aracnids is just annoying. Constant waves of mobs. Totaly dark maps where you see basicly nothing? Just avoid this game in it's current state.

Fun if you like sneaking and sniping.

If you liked Wasteland 2 your will like Wasteland 3. More of the same with slightly better graphics. I have not tried the new coop function yet though.

Fun game if you like survival and RPG. Still a bit buggy and finaly with mounts(as was promised at Early Access)

If you love RPG and sandbox games. This might be for you. I say might as the game dosen't hold your hand. The mecanics of the game are not what you are used too. If you want to get tougher you have to get beaten down. If you want to learn how to fight, you have to fight. If you want to get better at farming, you have to farm and so on. The game goes from survival RPG to basebuliding to strategy and the mix is spot on.

Update:
It's much better now. They have fixed alot of the quest and the new difficulty settings are much more fine tuned.
