Moonlighter has a great charm to it. The gameplay loop of going into the dungeon, collecting loot and getting a little farther than before, then returning to town to sell your loot, then using the money to upgrade your gear, the shop, our the town is so satisying in just the 5 hours I've played at the time of this review. The combat could use more depth but its not the main focus and it does the job the way it is. The upgrades are fun to strive for and seem rewarding in terms of the amount of damage increase and health as well as other bonuses you gain. The music is fantasic and the pixel art graphics and animations are amazing as well. If you like rougelikes with Rouge Legacy kinda meta build up on the outside of the dungeon gameplay then this is for you! Glad I Kickstartered this awhile ago and was able to get my code early!!

Super fun fusion of deckbuilding and rougelite RPG elements that blend together into a challenging and fun game that makes you wanna keep getting further and further with your next run. Different card syngergies and combos with relics you can find make it feel fresh and new with almost every run and its still in early access so can't wait to see what else is too come!

The visuals and audio were enough to sell me on this one, but the satisfying challenging gameplay is what has been keeping me around. I've never really been one to play 'difficult' games, but Cuphead has me sitting here replaying the same boss multiple times to beat it and not hesitating to restart and get a little farther that last time. When you finally beat one it is so satisfying and then I'm determined to beat it again and try to get a higher grade. Cuphead is a great game and at only $20 its a steal considering how much time the developers put into hand drawing the animations and the great gameplay that goes along with it!
