A brilliant concept with a unique art style, but frustrating execution. Progress feedback is unclear, making minor mistakes hard to pinpoint. The aesthetic, while stylish, often obscures crucial details, making some deaths feel like guesswork. The lack of fast travel adds unnecessary tedium. Great idea, but the gameplay drags it down.

The problem with coop horror games, is that often with a friend, you lose the fear when playing. Its hard to get immersed.

And so, this is the game we've been looking for with my mates. A lot of games weren't scary enough, and lost novelty in the first 30 minutes. Even outlast trials, although an excellent game, was missing a fear factor that this game has alongside with many single player horror games.

Playing many coop horror games, by far this is the best one. The maps are gradually harder, but still simple to understand the objective, without any hand holding or text on screen. The first monster is not very scary, but the other 2 were executed so well, with how they sounds, and how you don't know what you're getting yourself into.

I am sure that after a few tries and when replaying, the game becomes simple and not scary.
But so far, its the best coop horror game for the first playthrough.

When the servers are working, the game is great.
The re-worked stealth is super fun.

Never played the original, but damn this game is good. No side missions or other BS. Played on Classic throughout most of the game, except for a race, and turned off all the UI for additional role play. If anyone likes this kind of atmosphere, I highly recommend for the story / simulation.

[Edit] The game is utterly broken and ridden with bugs. I had a smoother experience playing Cyberpunk 2077 on release day. I wanted to give it a fair review (which is below), but the more I play it, the more unplayable it is. This should not be sold at all, or at least not at an AAA price point, until its finished. I assume the amazing reviews are from people who don't mind restarting the game multiple times to continue a mission (amongst other really awful annoyances). Hard for me to believe Cyberpunk got so much sh*t and this game didn't. [/edit]

Very far from what Dying Light 1, and it’s DLC was. I waited for this game with excitement like most, but at this point, I'm only staying for the fun in Co-op because it's such a downgrade from the first game. Would not recommend the game for its single player, as there's too much BS to deal with to make it worth the time. Even though I haven’t completed the game yet, I doubt the core of the game would change.

Quick about story:
The main story is interesting, and choices have real impact (not sure about ending).
So far, the side quests are just filler, much like many Ubisoft games, far from what it was like in DL1.

For the gameplay… For some reason, they couldn't take the old mechanics, and put them in here. They screwed them up big time. They made them clunky as.

Parkour:
Movement feels unresponsive and delayed, especially on terrain you interact with like zip lines, ladders, swings etc... Quite often, you try to jump/leap somewhere while climbing, and the character grabs onto something you weren't even looking at. It is utterly clunky compared to the first DL.
They took out what was fun. Aiden feels useless. Although somehow he's able to float like a balloon, and jump 20 meters forward with a dash ability ("SPRINT"), half the time you can't get up a 3 meter wall, until you try for the 6th time...
There is also no sprint button until you unlock an ability quite later into the game.

Combat:
First the good. They added a sneaking/stealth mechanic, which is a nice addition, and it's FUN. That's where the good ends. Unless you want to role-play, waking up the zombies and fighting them is much faster than sneaking around. There’s no benefit to sneaking. And we’re playing on hard difficulty. We hoped there would be a horror element in the game - some adrenaline at least, like you had at night in DL1… Even the night chases are just missing something, and feel more like the police chase mechanic from GTA with a star system… To make it worse, when you die, the death doesn't feel impactful. You just lose the XP bonus that you racked up during the night, which isn't a big loss, and isn't presented to you "In your face" like in was in DL1. You don't feel at a loss.

On top of that, the combat is utterly boring. You can pretty much just cheese every encounter and easily wipe the zombies in a room (that's why sneaking isn’t worth it). Swing at the zombies until stamina is depleted, then move 5 meters back, and repeat.
In the intro, there is a tutorial with a special enemy, where you learn to dodge. Amazing fight. But in the actual free world game, the zombie enemies aren't that. They are just slow flesh bots. If you want to be in a cool fight, you won't encounter a special enemy naturally like you did in the intro. You have to go to a looting area that has ta special zombie.
Then there's the kicking. It feels so low impact. Enemies barely move. They just stagger and play the same animation in every situation. When you try to kick something off the building, half the time, they stay in the air and come back on the roof. The zombies don't push other zombies when kicked like they used to. Fighting humans is a bit more fun, but still has lots to desire.

Bugs:
In my play through so far, I've actually encountered more bugs than in my Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough... Here's a list:

- Friend resurrects me, but I cannot move
- We turn into night for the mission, but the sky and lighting is still day
- Invisible objects, so far counted 3
- Zombies glitching through walls and floors (more than I can count)
- Standard animation bugs
- Corpses flying across the screen
- Piles of weapons jittering like a beehive
- Getting ripped out of a cut scene cause some guy came to fight me. I kill him and I auto return to cut scene. Not smooth return, either. It didn't feel like part of the game design.
- Friend resurrects me, I am standing up, but I still have the bleed out UI at 0%, and I have to quit the game to restart.

Utterly disappointed.

The game is really fun, and it is great playing with friends. The mechanics are good, and the graphic style is compelling.

But, its just not worth the full price. This game really felt like a cash-grab after the first Overcooked. They didn't add too many new things. We completed the game within 5 hours which is quite short for this type of game at this price point.

Seeing how simple this game is, I don't see why there isn't a map editor, with community workshop maps based on a grid system.
Or at least, why isn't there different worlds with different biomes... Imagine a desert biome, where food would decay quickly if left unattended. Or an ice biome, where one of the hazards would be that you slip on ice.

This game could have been so much more. Very disappointed in the lack of new ideas and new content.

Its fun, but not worth the price. Feels like recycled content.

10/10 game and lived up to expectations.

Cons:
Some people cant run the game. I was able to run on my RTX 2060 super medium ray tracing settings, but it isn't well optimized. I didn't come across as many bugs as people complain about, but did bump into a few animation ones.
I thought the game might be a bit longer. I did all important side missions and the main story within 30 hours.

Pros: Literally everything else is amazing and lived up to my expectations.

This game was really fun. I enjoyed building my character and found that it could get quite complex. The stealth was really engaging and smooth. Getting in battles was something I wanted to avoid as I played on a controller and wanted a more chill experience. That said, the enemies delt high damage and it felt challenging when I got into fights.

Honestly the only draw back to this game is the optimization. It run smoothly most times but sometimes I just wish it was full time 60 fps on a GTX 1070, instead it would drop to 30 and stay there for sometime... However, It did not draw from the experience for me and I was immerse in the game.

This game is just so fun and well made. If you are a fan of the Witcher 3 this is definitely for you. And I will say, this feels nothing like the previous assasin's creed games - but that is a HELL OF A GOOD THING.

The graphics are amazing, runs well. Only encountered 3 bugs throughout 76 hours and they were nothing major anyways. The game play was nice and straight forward.

The story was great but to be honest, I recon it would be better if Ubisoft just made a new IP following this trend of games. I found the hole assasins and templars theme to be boring at this point. The Greek world itself was just wonderful. I hated getting out of the anonymus.

What I enjoyed most was how exploration of the world payed off in a big way for the main mission. It felt really satisfying working everything out before the game told you what to do.

This game is one of a kind. You won't see anything like it - although who knows what the future holds...

The graphics are the best for the time, runs smoothly on highest settings with rx 470, sound is some of the best crafted sound across any game, mechanics are okay, game is short.
