its a generic modern shooter and i dont mean that in a good way.

for the good:
grafics are fine.
games runs well even without dlss/fsr
gun customisation is pretty thorough.

the bad:
map design is truely awful. there is no thought for flow. attackers have the advantage 100% of the time.
gunplay is some of the worst ive seen in a shooter. the guns have no recoil, and have a boatload of spread. its just pure luck if you hit someone at range. no skill involved

honestly, there is more to say, but i dont have more time to dedicate to this game.

i had not played a COD game in a while deceided to give it a chance... and well nope its just like all the other games. same gameplay but with more aberations like no support for 1000hz mouses? seriously counter strike source did 12 years go and call of duty 4 did in 2007. So how in the world they can ♥♥♥♥ it up so bad? there are many more issues with the game (imput lag or even just lag in general...) to list here. Not to mention i dont want to waste any more time reviewing this.. thing. just save yourself money dont buy it

so i'm going to leave aside the whole economy system as everyone allready mentioned. i will talk about the technical portion of the game. let's start by the feel of it, movement feels very clunky and unatural (lets not even mention the animations...). The grafics are... unimpressive for the cryengine not to mention this game does'nt use any of the cool features the cryengine is capable of. And the worse of it all is it's netcode, so for anyone who played BF4 on release, this is worse! i do not recommend this game at all... if you want a fast paced CQB shooter go play Black light Retribution.

edit: everything said below is relevant to the "old" blacklight. this tittle has been ruined by its dev, do yourself a favor... and try another game...

Please note that steam played time does not reflect the ammount of time i played this game as it never recorded the time i spent in alpha and beta and also the time steam couldnt see as i started the game from the executable.

even in 2015 the grafic quality of this game is still rather impressive, and back when it was first released (nearly 4 years ago since i was a very early alpha tester). The game is very much skill based (stock loadout being more than enough to compete with max level players if you got the skills to back it up). it has grat customisation, the best i have seen in any games i played. the gameplay itself have some vareity going from TDM to CTF while not forgetting a counter strike like gametype and even a zombie mode. this said it is true that the game has not received an update in over a year, but with the news of having a new studio buying the rights of this game i expect to see changes in a few weeks-months. i would not put any money in the game as it is, only if the game start receiving updates again.

overall Blacklight retribution is a very enjoyable game that i recommend very strongly.
