This game is technically speaking one of the worst console ports I've played:
- Impossible to Alt-Tab
- Impossible to use the mouse pointer in the menu
- Impossible to change settings in-game
- Ugly graphical glitches with the shadows in the cutscenes
- I didn't even manage to change the keyboard settings with the help of ini-file modifications, which wouldn't be so bad if you didn't need to use WASD, the Mouse AND the arrow keys almost simultaneously
- When you unlock new moves, you have to look up on forums what keys you need to press in order to execute them as they only show the Xbox buttons in the game.

The second main weak point of the game is, as many others point out, the gameplay.

Platforming is a joke, you can only die if the wall is crumbling and it takes you longer than 2 seconds to press space and vaguely point in the right direction. Other than that, just mash the space button and WASD and you'll eventually get there. There's some parts where the idea was that you have to time your jumps to avoid fire shooting out of the walls, but at this point in the game you should be maxed on health and health regeneration so you can simply jump straight through the fire as it really is not that taxing on your health.

Aside from combat, the game is just way too easy:
- Puzzles are not really complicated so much as lengthy to solve.
- The camera most of the time points in the direction of where you should be going
- If not, figuring out where to go next boils down to "spot the glowing thingy closest to the ground"

What is infuriating about walking from place to place is that they've placed pretty much all of the experience orbs just a little out of the way, so you can easily spot them but collecting them is terribly annoying as you have to take a longer route every time.

The combat is somewhat challenging, but very repetitive and doesn't offer enough variety, neither in the range of moves Monkey has nor in the enemies he faces.

The story to me wasn't really as compelling as many say it is, I found it rather thin for my 8 hours of gameplay. It's mainly conveyed in cutscenes. Pigsy was the cringiest character of all time and Trip was little more than a sex object. I like Monkey mainly because I like Andy Serkis.
