This game is great. I Have barely completed the second chapter. I dread to play it and just keep putting it off because it's too scary. 10/10

The original was the first PC game I played, great nostalgia. Well made remake! Don't miss out on the goofy free ride content!

Very good mod. Feels official. Somewhat difficult, but that was quite refreshing after having played Portal 1 and 2. ITS FREE! GO PLAY IT!

A post-apocalyptic, semi-Lovecraftian-inspired, survival horror exploration game.
And a really good one at that.

This is one weird, chilling, beautifully gross game that holds a lot of mysteries.
The top-down perspective with the narrow field of view is really unique, and the game takes advantage of this both story-wise and gameplay-wise; This, in combination with the games art-style and beautiful sound-design you get completely immersed in world of Darkwood.

Your quest is to escape the forest and during the day you explore, gather items important to your survival and interact with mindboggling people/creatures. Depending on what they say, and if you trust them, you choose actions that could have serious consequences and/or interesting outcomes. Will you be good or bad, or will it even be possible to distinguish the two from each other?
When the night starts rolling in you need to get back to your shelter and prepare for the worst, because the darkness holds many terrors. Board up the windows, block walkways with furniture, set up traps and then hide, because what's in store for you now is pure horror.

This is a mature and hard game that takes patience to get through. If you got nothing against that and want to play one of the best "hidden-gem-games" out there, and possibly one of the top scariest games ever, then buy this. It's one hell of an experience you won't soon forget.

-------

Even though this game is amazing and I highly recommend it, it's not perfect:
- The days, in my opinion, are a little bit too short and can make progressing the game feel tedious sometimes.
- The nights are really intense and interesting to experience in the beginning, but after a while, they turn into a chore just to sit through.
- The workbench should be able to hold more items. Because dropping items next to the workbench and having to sort through them one by one is just takes a long time, time that could have been spent on more important and fun activities in the game.

The game also has a few rare bugs, but I think it's important to point them out:
- Bugged text on notes (text goes off screen). This might be resolution related. If you play at 1920x1080, you probably won't experience this.
- Soft locking bugs. I would recommend making backups of your saves from time to time.

Fun and cute indie game with a charming art direction. Nice colors, music, and writing.
You can jump, climb, fly. There are several characters to talk to, secrets to find, etc.
This game evoked a sense of nostalgia in me, made me want to be a kid again and explore a forest with my buddies.
Play this game to feel happy and relaxed.
The game is short but really polished. Responsive controls, a few graphical LOD bugs here and there though (nothing too distracting)
Try this game out! It's worth it! :)

The game has game breking bugs, and the delevopers will do nothing to fix them. Been the same for a year now.

Best game I have ever played. It's not the best PC-port, but just download DS-Fix (google it) and it will work like a charm. The world is mysterious, has intreiging characters. The gameplay consist of meaty, satisfying high risk - high reward combat and uniqe online mechanics. The art direction is beautiful, dark and melancholy.
Dark Souls also has the best boss design I have ever seen, epic music, deep lore and carfully crafteded areas that both connects vertically and horizontally.
You get the point, I like everything about this game. Dark Souls may be hard to get into, not just because the game spanks your bum, but also because it's slow and odd compared to other Tripple-A games. Dark Souls breaks the mainstream "game design". You may hate it, you may love it. I say try it.
