When I purchased this game a year ago at $20, this game had its promises. Sure things where just as janky and slow as it is now. Over the course of a year, any competent early access title tends to make good and steady progress. This one devolved into endless discord drama resulting in developers leaving, assets being discarded and minor progression.

Fast forward to 2022, and this game seems it has been in a cyrogenetic state. Sure we got some new models, new sounds, the spline tracks are usuable sort of. But all the sudden, this game is $15 more? $35 for this heap? LOL.
Clunky and ugly UI "one-size-fits all" approach, terrible rail laying mechanics (Limited viewing angles, using numpad and mouse to shift the rails around), everything moves the same speed. You have to load the cargo manually, and you need to repetively use the cranes to load each piece. Driving trains is boring, reverser forawrd, regularor 100%. Need to stop? Put the reverser in the same direction. Works better than most brakes.
Economy mechanic is simple, just a handful of the generic industries and simple resource chains.
Online? Barely. Host will be fine, players will suffer stutters and odd physics. Maybe get so lucky everyone has to restart because of a bug. No notifications on player join, chat (text or voice), clumsy UI and UX contributes to this. Poorly optimized, and environment is ugly as sin (hey atleast we got *1* tree model!).
Sounds are meh, very repetitive however.
Player model needs makeup to finish this whole clown appeal.

For $20, this was a disappointment but I hoped over the course of 1 year we might see some progress. $35?! You're better off setting that on fire. Not sure what Astragon can do for this seemingly hopeless but once promising game. They must have some fine tricks up their sleeve if they think this one can pull around into something that can be challenging and fun.
I'd save this one for the grey markets at $5.

Only perk is the discord is now locked down, suppose they cant piddle all the time away on wasteful drama anymore. Guess thats a perk.

Cool game, great concept, awesome playthroughs.
The developers are so backwards, their buttocks rest on their head as if it was a hat.

both TTD and TPF are different beasts. In the beginning, this game was really in shambles and some of the TF adapters can chime in on that as well. But the developers really have made some great improvements this game. The modding community has made this worth every dollar it costs. They do a stellar job, and they really take this game to incredible levels.

I bought this game on release, and I wasn't happy. But some patience, and tweaking this game really changes these tides. Its still everything you wanted in (o)ttd. Nice 3D models and environment. But its everything you miss too like timetables and dynamic pathing (such as using another siding if one is occcupied).

I have developed good hopes in this game, and in Urban over these past couple years. Maybe MP, maybe streamless performance. Time is a beautiful and dynamic thing, and perhaps we'll see a true replacement for TTD. But it all takes time to make a castle out of dirt. And they're on the right path. ✔

In what logical decision do you make "holding the base directory as a ZIP" is a viable one? Install 1 custom map and the whole MP system is broken, not to mention starting a new map causes "map differs" issues because this structure is 100% ᴅᴜᴍʙ. Is this supposed to be some half-ᴀssᴇᴅ DRM?

This game is amateur dev as it was when the first spintires came out, If all these pitfalls are because the dev wants some slapshod DRM in place, keep your money. Theres actually more benefits keeping with the OG Spintires besides new "support".

For shame. Such chances, and you ʙʟᴇᴡ it.
Thanks for the 1st DLC being free, but this game has ɴᴏ hope if you're planning DLC while being so sʜʏᴛᴇ.

This map offers some unique challenges. And thats just the installation!
They really should add at least a note on how to install this, but they also should stop using default names on their assets too lol.

The game is good, but everything feels 'plastic'. And the UI/Menu has quite possibly the worst UX in history. Want to change a hotkey? Close out of your game, and change it, then load back into the game. Want to set up a controller? You're better off using the defaults because you're going to be bouncing in and out of your games like this is your boy's ride.

You guys really know how to show the big old finger to your PC community. Good luck on this platform in the future.

Not even EA is this shady.

This game is a grave danger to your health. As soon as you open it, you will immediately forget large chunks of time from that point forward.
