This game is delightful and just keeps getting better with updates.

I mean, if you've played DS1 and DS2 you gotta finish the series right? This game is exactly what you think it is, which is sometimes a good thing and sometimes a bad thing.

Do you like things that are "metal"? If yes, play this game. If no, play this game anyway.

Cool movement and combat mechanics totally overshadowed by miserable bugs (including one that forced me to set my CPU cores to just 1 in order to get a scene to trigger correctly), serious graphical slowdowns and boring side missions. Story was amusingly over the top but not good enough to keep me that interested. Final boss fight was probably my favorite part. It was challenging and forced you to use all your powers in fun ways. If you liked the combat and movement of the first game and like hilariously edgy and over-the-top dialogue (like I do) this is a decent on-sale pickup. Overall, just not as good as the first game. 5/10

I honestly can't believe I haven't reviewed this game. I've been playing games for a long, long time at this point and I've played a lot of things. This is easily my favorite game. The settings, the characters, the stories and side stories are all amazing.

If you like the noir-style (I do), enjoy 3rd person shooting with some interesting mechanics and you don't mind some older looking graphics then you should play this game. I enjoyed it, thought it was interesting and amusing. The shooting is still pretty decent even if the AI isn't the greatest.

I have many, many feelings about this game. It's gorgeous to look at with great visuals and really cool locations and great aesthetics. The storyline was solid with bits and pieces shown to you just enough to keep you guessing where it was going to take you. And as a platformer, it's pretty darn fun. Having played and enjoyed the first one, I really liked going back into Wonderland.

However. The game has mini-games interspersed throughout the levels that with the exepction of one (the chess pieces), suck. The addition of items to find doesn't really add anything to the game and makes it feel less of a puzzle-platformer and more of a hunt-and-find platformer. The memories are a good item but the bottles and snouts...not so much.

Overall, if you played and enjoyed the original Alice or if you really like the idea of Wonderland and seeing various themes of it, I'd recommend this game. But if neither one of these things interests you, I'd stay away.

If you like boring, repetitive fetch quests through areas you're forced to clear out over and over again...then this is the game for you! But if you're like most people and you don't like those things then I'd avoid this game.

I mean, what is there to say? This is the quintessential team-based shooter of the late 2000s and into the 2010s. I put 700+ hours into it for a reason. It's fast, it's fun and it's never the same thing twice.

As a note, I can't say much about the game now as I haven't really played it in well over a year but if the core gameplay is unchanged, I'm sure it'll still be a great game to play.

2019 update: This game is still fun.

Very different take on the open world GTA style games. It's much more focused on melee combat which I found to be very satisfying. The story might be bit cliched but it was different enough from most to keep me interested and the double-agent role you play was very cool. If you have a decent rig I'd pick up the HD textures patch, it's well worth the time to download, plus, it's free!
