Fun with friends or if you manage to get a decent player in matchmaking. Absolute snoozefest with random matchmaking, up there with getting stuck with a career Loba in Apex Legends, afraid to engage in any battles lest they lose. There's a lot of reviews about the latest update and as a newer player I don't know anything about any of that. All I know is I've had too many matches that have just been running through empty fields but never engaging targets and not getting anything done because my partner is playing Metal Gear Solid apparently.

If you've got friends who will always be down to play, go for it it'll be a blast. If not, just play something else while you continue to wish Tarkov wasn't what it is.

The game is very well made, and the gameplay is solid and enjoyable, with lots of puzzles and activities to do. The sailing is legit a ton of fun, and there are plenty of cosmetic options to work towards to make your pirate the one you always pictured as a kid. Especially on a sale, there is a great value proposition here.

So why don't I recommend it? Because as much as people will try to tell you otherwise, you *will* be hunted relentlessly by everyone who got bored with the latest CoD or pvp game. You *will* be camped and have your session ruined constantly. The friends who all showed interest in the game will all very quickly find reasons they're too busy to jump back in, and you will be left alone, trying to solo sloop in a world filled with co-op fun. Is it possible to solo? Absolutely. Is it any fun unless you're just looking to dunk on people? Not at all.

I still wish I could play Sea of Thieves with my friends. However the toxic pvp mentality will never quenched here, so it's a lost cause to hope for. Just go play Raft or AC4 and pretend it's actually Sea of Thieves.

A bit grindy. Best played on some kind of private or custom server, otherwise everything takes too long. Definitely better with non-solo.

Already feels like a complete game, and it keeps getting updated. Some performance issues that are getting ironed out soon, but still well worth the money I paid even in an incomplete state.

It's 2016 Capcom. Only having Xinput support on release when several large vendors of controllers/fight sticks/fight pads use Dinput is completely unacceptable. I will update this when it's fixed, but my god I shouldn't need to use some random 3rd party programs to get basic controller schemes to work.

Capcom has heard this complaint and is working on it apparently. I will update my review when dinput is added, but until that point I still don't recommend purchasing the game.

Guess they added Direct Input at the end of 2016. Also there's arcade mode now, and it's all super spiffy. Changed to thumbs up.

Do you love cats? Do you like chiptunes? Do you like sidescroller shooters? If so, pick this game up. It's great fun for the price. It doesn't really try anything original gameplay-wise, but it uses a tried-and-true format.

It helps that it's ridiculously cute, too.
