Varg Vikernes (real name Christian Vikernes) is a Norwegian musician, born on February 11, 1973.

He became known as the founder and main member of the black metal band Burzum. Varg was also active in other projects, both musical and literary.

In 1994, Varg Vikernes was arrested and sentenced to 21 years in prison for the murder of Mayhem guitarist Eystein "Euronymous" Aarsaeth and the arson of several churches. During his prison term, Varg continued to create music, recording albums under the pseudonym Burzum.

After Varg's release from prison in 2009, the band resumed its activities and released the album "Belus" (2010). However, after this album, the band suspended their activities again due to Varg's personal circumstances.

At the moment, the band remains inactive, but Varg continues to work on his solo project "Uruk-Hai", which is also a continuation of the Burzum story.
