i've already finished this on ps4 a few years ago, and now going for the 100% before rebirth release on PC.
this game is just amazing, there's so much GOOD filler for the first part of the classic ff7 that this is not only a remake, but a well deserved fan service.
one of the best rpg's out there for sure.

this is trully a good game. everything is really nicely put together. in some aspects it exceeds Trials of Mana, in other it doesn't. but every game with it's strenghts. this one would benefit of a little bit more difficulty combat wise, but playing it on hard did the trick. (and I'm not a hardcore gamer, or nothing as such)

this game is a mixture of action-rpg systems with a more simplified souls-like combat. if any of those are your thing, go for it. and for the price, I think you`ll get more than what you're paying for. it sits in the middle between a Sands of Aura and a No Rest For The Wicked.
had fun playing this one. run mostly well on the steam deck. making it a nice action option to trips, uberdrives. hence it's not too complicated nature.

from the small research I did, this game was made by a team of around 20 devs, so nice job. didn't had any bugs during gameplay, no glitches, no crashes. it has the occasional stuttering, but most of the time it ran smooth.

the only issue I had with this one is that, in the rift parts, crowd management was straight unfair. the GAIA system is one that the team mentioned to be proud of. but I feel it could use some more work.
nonetheless, good game.

short, but very interesting introduction to the shadowrun universe and to the C-RPG subgenre as a whole. if you don't have the time. just skip this one and play the next one in the thrillogy. but, if you love a cyberpunk universe and just wants more of Shadowrun, or if you're trying to get a hold of the turn based tactical combat, this is the place for it.

first of all. as of today, this port needs optimization. everything you do in the configuration seems pointless, no setting will allow you to have any significant performance boost or higher framerates. game crashes in certain parts of the game when picking up shining objects from the ground. and this isn't even a system thing. it crashes in both pc and steam deck when picking up items. this port is just simply terrible. it is, by far, the worst experience I ever had gaming in a PC. and I've played quite a few games. even though my review is positive. I wouldn't recommend this experience to anyone.

with that out of the way, talking abot the game itself: this is a solid entry in the franchise.
in some ways, this is peak final fantasy. in others, it is not.
you have breath taking cutscenes, awesome soundtrack, memorable characters, beautiful universe, good combat mechanichs and rewarding progression.
but you also DON'T have good plot development, meaningful side activities, interesting loot, party members (or equipment, or skill, or progression, the companions just feel useless).
some stuff feel really nice, other just feel really BASIC, SIMPLE. like final fantasy for dummies.
it feels like they were trying to reach a wider audience with this game.

square enix took the liberty to experiment on some points in the game. as they usually do, in every entry since Final Fantasy IX, I guess. it's as it always been. trying to bring something new to the table. this time a commercial action-based graphic novel. somewhat like an Uncharted Rpg game would be.
and they did a great job, but I guess some compromises had to be made. either way, solid entry.

ok, so I've played through the trails in the sky series, and a couple of the cold steel back in the ps3. and this one, trails from zero, has been the best in the series so far. just started in the sequel as well, it's just a gift that keeps on giving.
though, for the best experience, I highly recommend you play all the other games before.

so yeah, this is the direct sequel to the first chapter, as you might`ve heard already. but it really picks up where you left, even loads your first game save file. it`s where the plot thickens, its very RPGish, very dialog based, a great game, much better than the first. but i`ll be honest, don`t know if its because i`m doing the whole completionist thing. or because i`m playing it right after the first one, but I can`t take it anymore, just want to finish it already. but i`m over 40 hours and only half way through I guess. (steam is bugged with 28.7 hours at the moment).
either way, a great game. 8/10
