Hazelight is just THAT studio when it comes to insanely polished coop platformers. Split Fiction throws ideas after ideas withouth overstaying or overwhelming. The characters start off as a little annoying but they QUICKLY grow on you with everything culminating into an actual 10/10 finale. Those last chapters are a goldmine of insanely fun and interesting ideas with a beautiful story and message.
At this point when Hazelight Studios releases a game you can guarantee that its an actual masterpiece

Definition of Quality over Quantity.
Took me just under 5h IGT to 100% the main game. The game only has 4 main levels with one of em being the tutorial but in those levels the devs throw creative ideas after ideas at you without the mechanics ever getting stale or overwhelming. It always knows when to move on to the next part while a beautiful orchestal soundtrack plays in the background. There are no enemies, no combat, just fun platforming in its purest form.
There are no perfect games tho and this one has some flaws too: The powerups feel underwhelming aside from the very last one. Your moveset should evolve over time but it almost feels like you are at peak performance from the get go. Also something feels off about the walljump mechanic. Once you slide down on a wall it feels very hard to get off of it and the walljump always goes a fixed arch and distance which doesn't hurt the levels its used in cause they were designed with that in mind but stills feels a bit unintuative.
I rarely write reviews, much less often do I write actual serious reviews, but seeing how criminally underated and under the radar this game is I had to write my thoughts. Definetly worth a shot if you like platformers
