I recommend it for the story and lore bits, but gameplay-wise there's too much room for frustration and misunderstanding compared to the main game. Trying to find something you may have missed while fumbling around in the dark while trying not to get caught is not exactly ideal, and the new mechanics are neat but it lacks the amount of hints that the base game had. Like a major info location is gated by a mechanic that is used once and never really explained which really soured things towards the end

This is a shallow game wearing the corpse of Pixel's IP. Nicalis is an exploitative publisher run by known racist Tyrone Rodriguez. As others have stated, this strikes me as a plea for goodwill by releasing a free game associated with an indie darling. It's also telling that there is no credits section.

All that aside, the game is just not fun and really slow.

Go play Pixel's Kero Blaster, or if you like em free, Pink Heaven, Pink Hour, and freeware Cave Story.


Note for the achievement hunters: the achievements are currently broken in classic nicalis fashion so its not even worth your time

after learning the campaign was removed i lost interest
