This is my first Paradox game and I'll just say, it is insanely complex, extremely difficult, full of innovation and hardcore sci-fy, and highly addictive. At the time of writing I have nearly 70 hrs on record, six tries and for the first time I think I might actually beat it. I also am far from exhausting everything Stellaris has to offer me. If you have too much time on your hand, try Stellaris.

It took me less than 3 hours to get what all the other reviews was about... Extremely grindy and repetative. Personally I found the combat non-engaging, as I basically mash some buttons until I win or loose, and not much satisfaction in that. I understand that you can make it somewhat more tactical and interestring if you know what your'e doing but honestly, I couldn't bother.

On the upside the style and soundtrack are great.

This game starts off as somewhat grindy and a bit difficult; then you choose one of three mostly-equivalent strategies and it becomes slightly grindy and very easy; finally, in the last course, it reaches to a point where you can't really do anything besides grind, grind and more grind until you finally beat it. I'm about 90% through this game and can't imagine myself opening it again to finish it because I couldn't bother to kill 1 or 3 more hours looking at my man punching some bag while listening to the same 3:31 min long soundtrack in repeat.

Don't let the promising screenshots mislead you, this game's strategy is as shallow as it gets, and you don't even have to figure it out by yourself as they explain it all to you by day 3 or so. You might think that as the game advances you get more management and strategy options that makes it more complex; It actually gets simpler, as most new skills are either upgraded versions of the old ones and you get more skill slots so you don't have to choose between them. It's possible to swoop through the game with barely changing skills between rounds or even battles – actually it's probably easier to win this way, as usually there exist a single skill set that makes the best strategy against any opponent.

Unfortunately I have to downvote it due to it's marketing. For some odd reason they sell it by parts, although this part can be perfected easily within less than 2 hours, And I doubt that the "complete pack" has 9$ worth of puzzles. That's too bad because I've actually enjoyed these couple hours a lot. It's a very engaging, pleasant and moderately challenging.

I'll also comment that the game is somewhat flawed on the guidance part which at times is not clear enough for no good reason, resulting with user mistakes.

Rather than that it's a great game.

A great game, unfortunately too short. You get to develop a variety of skills and weapons but not so much opprotunities to use them.

The perfect arcade game to kill 20-30 minutes and clear your thoughts with. Would suggest buying it on a sale though
