Pretty clunky... Rolling the grass is one of the more unnecessarily confusing things in this game. You buy a roll. You place it down. You don't roll it forward, no. You for some reason roll it backward. And so after you spend a bunch of money trying to figure that out, you've now found yourself stuck between a bush and a fence. Because whilst you're rolling backwards and can't see where you're going, you have no collision with other garden items.

"From the creators of Evolve". At least I got it in the Ukraine bundle. It's not... unplayable. It's just not what they marketed it as, as in a spiritual successor to L4D. It's like Turtle Rock saw what Vermintide did, then put a L4D skin on it, but made it less immersive and interesting. Very sad.

This game is buggy as hell. But once you get over the learning curve and your units stop sucking it's fun. It's just too bad that it's plagued with random hanging, enemy units appearing and disappearing on the map that should be visible at all times if they're not in the fog of war and are in line of sight, being unable to reload for some weird reasons, etc. They all add up to be super annoying. But if you can look past them it's one of those games you play out of hatred cause RNG screws you so often.

Finally played this game after probably getting it in a humble bundle eons ago. It was kinda fun, very novel. But I'm now convinced that Jeffrey, Jeffrey Bezos used this as a blueprint for his life.

Whether it's a game or not is up for debate, but if you can get past the beginning that seems a bit pretentious and boring on first impression, you get treated to a very atmospheric experience. It's more of an interactive indie film than a game, the soundtrack is gorgeous as are the environments. This is something that would genuinely benefit from being made for VR.

The game seemingly corrupts saves somehow, and so I'm not able to continue and finish my game after putting 10 hours into it. I don't have an old busted PC (literally just built it. Hard drive is fine, etc, etc), and if you check the discussions you can see this is a bug that's been in the remastered version since release. So... Play with caution.

Edit: I found out that the game corrupts save files if you select save when you quit the game. So, always manually save your game then quit, and if it asks you to save when you quit always choose no. The game itself is fine, very, very short (would have finished in maybe 13 hours if I didn't have to redo a bunch, and I played on the hardest setting with no vita chambers). Much more action oriented than the first. Better looking and game play is a bit more fun. Research still sucks and breaks the momentum of fights. There's no free roam to go back to a place you've been before. Story was pretty silly but it had some fun characters and didn't take the twist I expected, it didn't have a twist at all. Let's say 6/10.

This game is eh for me. It's more of an open world game compared to the reboot, so if that's what you want, and it seems most people do, you'll like it. If you're not just beelining the story, it takes a long time walking back, and forth, and back, and forth, in rather uninteresting areas to collect everything. For the sheer size of the maps, there's only 9 mini quests and one involves the optional tombs you'll likely be visiting regardless. There's a lot of combat... A lot. Not with wildlife like in the original series, but with soldiers... It's not very interesting. The tombs are better in this one compared to the reboot Tomb Raider, but still pretty short. Only 1 puzzle to be solved for each then you're done. Overall, it's kinda fun I guess but it feels more like a chore than a game. If you're into that kind of thing you might like it.

Forgot my biggest pet peeve, these big battles with 10+ guys at once and instead of being able to loot them you're taken to a completely different area... Why. Couldn't make it so you have to move to a checkpoint to trigger the cutscenes, it's when you kill the final guy and you never know if it is the final guy, and cutscenes trigger. It's not cinematic, it's annoying. Let me loot, dammit.

Edit: Finished the game and it was incredibly underwhelming.

You might like this one if you enjoyed 4.

This is another first person RE, following the events of RE7. The setting and story are very thematically different from 7. This game is far more in line with classic RE goofiness. The awkward dialogue returns. Combat is a lot more central to the gameplay of this one, compared to 7 where hiding and running from enemies is typically preferential. There's a little bit of that in this game in the beginning and middle.

As for why it's like 4, the gunplay is fantastic, the weapons are satisfying to use and upgrade. There are unlockables for completing certain challenges, the formula for the story in general is similar to 4, with enough differences to keep it fresh. It was very nostalgic playing this in an odd way.

Same inventory management from 4 is back, almost exactly like 4's but with an annoying downgrade, you can't move an item into an item to move that secondary item out of the way. It's a minor inconvenience but it's there. Very happy to have inventory tetris back.

Collectibles, treasures, side areas to explore. 2 collectibles are devilishly placed, so if you're a completionist keep your eyes peeled even in moments you don't think the devs would be so evil as to place something for you to miss.

What else is there to say... I really, thoroughly loved this game.
