A high octane game with fast and frenetic one-hit combat with snappy and satisfying traversal options accompanied by a gorgeous looking world and an amazing soundtrack. The game is far from perfect however, as pacing can be somewhat uneven especially during platforming sections and the story is subpar and short (5-6 hours). Also you will learn to hate RED BALLS with a burning passion in this game.

Might be a hard sell when it's on full price but definitely worth your consideration during a sizeable discount.

Early Access Review
Insanely fun, great replayability, topped off with a charming cast, story and art direction that Supergiant is well known for. One of, if not the, most comprehensive Early Access titles by far!

Don't get me wrong, this used to be my favorite game. I used to play this a lot with my friends. We loved this game. We had a ton of memorable experiences just from playing this game alone. But things change. Overkill has betrayed their loyal fanbase time and time again over the past few months, and I just can't take this anymore. This is the ♥♥♥♥ they did in a nutshell:

- They introduced microtransactions despite saying they wouldn't in the form of Safes, Drills, and Skins (and they even made fun of us for thinking otherwise).
- They introduced a Stats bonus sytem from equipping skins (so they're not just purely cosmetic).
- They finally gave the huge middle finger to all of us loyal fans when they announced that the Completely Overkill Pack's (that costed an insane $20 USD) so-called secret content is a free safe and a drill that gives you a random limited edition skin (are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ serious?), along with DLC that most dedicated fans would have by this time.

There's probably more that I might have missed out on, but these are the things that have affected me on a personal level. Dammit Overkill, get your ♥♥♥♥ together.

EDIT: I guess they sort of addressed most of their problems and removed microtransactions from within the game. They also revamped several mechanics that have been previously viewed as problematic as well as added several new things. I hope Overkill can continue fixing their mistake and maybe one day it'll be the game we've always wanted it to be.
