A beautiful game to spend some waiting time with. Yet it manages to catch my full attention all the time, so that I suddenly don't want to play the other games I had previously thought of, haha.

There's always something new to discover. It's very addicting! Looking forward to 100% this one. :)

I love this game and play it on a regular basis since the end of season six. While the game is clearly not for everyone, there is just so much magic in the Sea of Thieves that never fails to amaze me.

I'm a solo player, which can be really, really hard. I'm not really good at PVP either, so I lose most of the time. BUT to my experience, the game is still most fun when it comes to the stories you experience with other players. There have been many situations where I was able to turn the wheel around using other tools that the game provided than just the regular pvp weapons. For example, gunpowder barrels. Lots of them. Thanks to rowboats I was often able to steal stacks of loot after both ships sank.

Do yourself a flavor and start the game in "Safer Seas" mode. Ask some friends if they wanna join (or ask some people online) and take your time to learn the basics. Do the tutorial voyages for each faction on your ship's table. It's really not about the gold, it's all about the experiences and adventures. Don't get attached to the loot, sell as soon as you can. And always remember: The loot is only yours in the very second you turn it in. Everything else can (and will) be taken away from you.

+ While the artstyle is pretty wonky, the team managed to get the best out of it with very beautiful effects and lighting. Love it!
+ Sailing around in an open world like this reminds me of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, one of my most favourite games
+ Awesome Tall Tales that give you a meaningful story about gold & glory.
+ Meaningful Crossovers (= they are relevant to the game's story) with Pirates of the Carribean and Monkey Island that are still playable for everyone.
+ All currencies are used purely for cosmetic items that won't get you stats or anything. There are just a few exceptions that will give you access to core gameplay features (like buying captained ships or emissary flags) but those are still pretty affordable with regular gold (main currency).
+ The game gets free updates with each season (and also inbetween). The current season "Wild Seas" really got me hooked again after the previous two seasons were lackluster to many.

- Don't go for "Open Crew". Use the official Discord to search for a crew, it will give you better options.
- There are toxic players, like pretty much all online multiplayer games have. But you can always switch servers by using the diving function.
- The game's stability was lacking A LOT lately. But with the current releases, it seems like they are getting their things together again, at last.
- Sometimes, there are weird retcons or inconsistencies when it comes to the main story, but I can live with that.

You really need to play and see for yourself if this game is something for you. Play it the way you want and see how it goes.

When I was a kid, my best friend and I often met at his house to play outside or videogames on his PC. His mother often came to his room to offer us cake or selfmade nut corners. We mostly played games that I did not own myself, like Stronghold 2, Age of Empires II and III. One day, he introduced me to Age of Mythology. While my best buddy was always more a fan of the "more historically accurate" titles, I always begged him to at least play one round or two of Mythology, haha.

When Age of Mythology: Retold was announced, my best friend had already passed away sadly. Yet the announcement really triggered some good memories and I decided to get the game on day one and play it "for him" and the good old memories.

I may be a bit nostalgia driven on this game, but even without tinted glasses I can safely say that I love the way the developers brought back Age of Mythology in the Retold version. I had such a blast with the 3 main campaigns and I can't wait to play the DLCs. To me, it seems to be better balanced than the original title and the graphics are very well polished while they still manage to keep the feel of the original game.

I want to say a big "thank you" to the developers. This game means so much to me, words can't express it.

I played every single SteamWorld game (even the forgotten one for DSi/3DS, SteamWorld Tower Defense) and I have to admit: While the original SteamWorld Dig was my all-time favourite for a long time, SteamWorld Heist II (SWH2) is the game that finally took its place.

The graphics are beautiful. With the addition of dynamic lighting, it really adds more depth to the even more improved 2D style. The map is a very nice upgrade to the first Heist, as it really feels like you are on the shard / overworld and not just on a map. The steering is a bit wonky, but adds to the challenge. I also like the fact that there are lots of secrets to uncover.

The new job system is easy to learn, but also easy to miss. One mission brings it up, and it's really worth taking time to get into it, as it really adds much depth - and extremely fun and almost OP techniques - to your trick shots. One time I was able to shoot 42 times with ONE character during ONE TURN because I used the right combination of skills from different jobs on that character. Gives you some real #BigSteveEnergy!
Without using the new job-system, some levels might be very hard even on lower difficulties. It takes some time to level jobs, and you will have to replay some levels you already completed for sure, but it's very much worth the time!

I beat the game (story wise) at a playtime of 28 hours and I still have to complete all levels on full stars as well as collecting all the hats and level-up all teammates to the max. It has lots of replay value for sure! I was shocked when I thought the game was almost over, and I was actually only halfway in.

At first, I was very skeptical about the new cast of playable characters, as Heist players like me are very used to Piper and her Crew. But I got to love them really quickly and following their individual background stories as well as the games' story, I really felt like they grew together like a family. Especially after the one VERY spoilery event that made things kinda emotionally on Captain Leeway's side. #CharacterDevelopmentDoneRight

The story is brilliant. It's nothing that deep and nothing extraordinarily new, sure. But it fits really well into the SteamWorld lore and adds a lot of new context to what happened in space after the Earth exploded at the end of SteamWorld Dig 2 / SteamWorld Build. It also captures the SteamWorld humour very well.
SWH2 has cool references (that I won't spoil) to the first Heist, as well as some other titles. One was a very QUESTy surprise at the very end of the game, so keep playing!

I 100% completed this gem of a game when it released first for PC on [REDACTED], as well as on my phone some time after that. I can't wait to complete it a third time here on Steam as well.

Obviously, there's something completely (and horribly) wrong with me. But if playing as THE goat in a silly video game keeps me from turning into a psychopath (or even worse, a fully functional adult), I'll rather choose the first option.

EDIT: I. Did. It.

I still can't believe that the support for Minecraft Dungeons had to "die" so that Minecraft Legends could rise, only for Minecraft Legends to ultimatley die because that game completely sucks.

It's one of the best dungeon crawlers I ever played.

The SteamWorld universe has been translated into 3D faithfully!

SteamWorld Build is easy to learn and fun to play, which makes this game a great start for genre beginners. The mining elements mix things up a bit and provide new challenges to players - especially while exploring the lower levels of the mine. The replayability is given by playing all the different maps to unlock special buildings. It's pretty repeptitive after playing on both balanced and hard difficulty settings, though.

While the story adds a lot of charme to the game, it isn't really deep. I'm sure it's more enjoyable for players of the previous titles - especially SteamWorld Dig 2, as that title takes place at about the same time as this game.

SteamWorld Build is one of the best games of the entire series to me - and I played all 5 (now 6) of them. :)

The unique, hand-crafted pixel art style makes this game special. The jokes are very well written and have been perfectly integrated into the story. Not a single joke feels forced, it's all naturally good humour.

If you like point & click adventures in general, this one should be the next on your list (after you played the first game, of course).
If you're still sceptical, try out the free demo version and see for yourself. It will give you a great first impression of the whole experience in my opinion.
