Early Access Review
If you like terraria/minecraft you should buy this game. It's got more in common with Terraria in my opinion, however it adds new aspects that you can't find there, as well as a different style of play due to its top down approach. While I do enjoy the settlement mechanics, it does leave a bit to be desired, though it is more complex than I would have initially guessed; I suppose now that I've spent some time playing with it, I just want to see it get even deeper, with mechanics for more of the furniture, as well as zone mechanics for purely cosmetic buildings you can make like taverns, churches, dining areas etc. although to be fair, expecting dwarf fortress level settlement management is asking far too much. I would buy this game at it's full price, (I had been considering it) but it was a steal during the steam summer sale.

I really like this game. As a DotA fan of over a decade, I really have to say I think the concept is amazing, not that it was original, but it is extremely polished and provides a unique view of DotA. The only issue is, I don't recommend investing a ton of time or money into this game for a couple reasons:
1) There is very little support for Dota Underlords from Valve at this point in time. This means, new heroes and alliances are unlikely to come to Dota Underlords anytime soon if at all, and even the battle pass is reused each season now.
2) After an update about a month ago now I also get random crashes, the game just freezes. It's weird because I play DotA 2, Cyberpunk, Apex, and a lot of other graphic intensive games on my PC but dota underlords is the only one giving me crashes right now.

IF, like me, you want something to play mindlessly while watching netflix or hulu sometimes, go for it, totally worth the download. It's free so if you want to space out and not focus too much on a game, it's worth the download. If you are wanting to grind to be good at it, or to get a bunch of cosmetics, or whatever else, there are a lot of better games for that imho.

TL;DR
Don't download it unless it's for when you want to mindlessly mess with something while you watch netflix.

Northgard was a great game, I enjoyed playing it every now and then because the multiplayer was competitive and exciting to me. The problem is, they just made it so if you want to play all the clans you have to spend more money, which is a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea if you want an RTS to be competitive. If they need support, why not just put in cosmetics into the game. Everyone knows cosmetics are the real way to make money anyway... seems like a stupid move from the devs, won't be playing until all clans are free with the base game. Certainly won't be spending 5 more bucks on a game that I don't play too frequently anyway. Honestly the playerbase isn't even big enough to justify it.. they should have improved the game for free and added microtransactions as stated above... making the game more expensive to play will not increase playerbase.

A very addicting game, a better version of Diablo 3, an ARPG at its finest!
