Edit: It is now the future, they had so much hard work and a great game that valued and respected players time but now are pushing a more competitive game which will never be balanced. They completely obliterated players in game currency which currently has cut the player count in half and will most likely continue on a downward spiral.

Expected more from Crytek but reading into their history of customer and even employee treatment, It is exactly what was going to happen.

What a great game. If you enjoyed The Forest this is a great addition to the series. Beautiful landscapes and great points of interest. There is something special here as the game develops long term.

Littered with technical issues and painfully extensive rail tutorial that teaches you the basics of a shooter. Finally get into the open world and its terribly broken. Network issues causing disconnects and weird bugs like floating enemies and items disappearing. Things like walking through a doorway with a coop partner and it would lock the door behind them causing the mission to be stuck. Constantly needing to restart game to finish missions. Progress is not lobby wide so you will have to replay missions in your own lobby. I've tried to play through the issues as a past fan of Dead Island and Dying Light but it just never came together.

Update after patch 3 days after release:
Tried to play again today and the servers were down for coop, they had some quick bug fixes so didn't fall through the ground when climbing. The utility wheel for health and weapon select is now stuck so unable to heal or use utility items when needed. You must use mushrooms in an underground zone to complete a mission but with the scroll wheel is locked. until this is fixed I can't backup through my mission. quiting just returns you to the last checkpoint underground and tells you to keep going.

The last time I was on this page was back on February 5th, 2022. The only reason I am back is because of a developer reaching out.

I will not try the game again almost 3 years after release. In this time I have forgotten about Techland and moved onto better devs and games. It seems Techland wants to fix problems that they never addressed far after it was too late. Hopefully they can look to the future to release a game when its completed.

Great game!

Wow! Absolutely blown away at how much fun this game is. It replaced our 7 days to die game. I was skeptical of how the reviews were 90%+ positive but after playing more this game just seems to be ready to release with additions to come later

Good Fun! A great and expansive world with great customization and exploration.
We went into making custom maps too and was able to set different regions and locations based of their premade buildings.

Would highly recommend to friends and well worth the money!

The ads and demonstrations of the game do it no justice and need an update to really show how fun it is.
