They ruined it.

The best part of this game is standing back to back with your mates or some random on 0 hp just trying to push through the wave, your team is waiting to be rescued, you're in absolute chaos, if you make any mistake you lose it for everyone.

Great game. Hack and slash but each character has a distinct personality. So while you're hackin an' slashin your way through waves all the characters are taking the piss out of each other. :D

Very team/coop orientated. There is no solo in this game (unless you are desperate), you will just get overrun (unless you're the nutcase dwarf with the two axes, he is just OP).

3 enemy races and lots of different enemy types (Skaven, Chaos, Beastmen)

There are 5 characters, each with 3 (now 4) classes. Each class gets harder to play but is more powerful (or at least tailored to different situations). There is a talent tree for each class, the only real unique talent is at max level (35).

You get about 1 level per map completion. so you can level up pretty quick, that's when the real fun starts imo.

You start with a low power level which forces you to play easy mode, and you move up the difficulty levels as your power level increases. As you progress you will receive XP and drops based on the difficulty you complete which gives you access to new weapons and enhanced versions of your current weapons. There are lots of maps to play (you will still often play the same maps, which is actually good, you wouldn't survive the harder modes otherwise) and the maps are long (30-45 min).

Everything in the game is great fun, they have really done a good job. You really feel like you're surviving against all odds and sometimes you are because the harder levels are brutal. The game really doesn't care, it is just desperate to kill you, and it will, at any opportunity, sometimes its just inevitable.

Oh there is a whole crafting system where you can create new items, upgrade them, re-roll their properties and attributes. That is all done in the keep (a sort of interactive map/your home/base) its a castle basically where you select missions etc.

After you have played the vanilla game a bit you can do pilgrimages where you do multiple new maps back-to-back with exotic weapons and talents.

Hello CommandeRRRR. Bloody brilliant game. If you like turn based combat, tactics and generally outsmarting your opponents then you'll love this. The game is in two parts, the first is the missions where you control multiple soldiers on a dynamically generated map which you have to guide to complete an objective, whether that is sabotaging an alien facility, hacking (strategic) terminals or protecting or destroying a beacon. During the mission you will face a multitude of different enemies, all with their specific abilities of which will completely obliterate your squad unless you understand how each of their OP abilities work. Your soldiers have different abilities too, according to their class. Some are stealthy and carry a sword, some carry a massive cannon, and everything in between, you choose the makeup of your team before each mission.

The second is a larger scale overview of your operations throughout the globe, in this you have to identify threats happening on different continents, but you only have a limited amount of resources to complete them, so you have to prioritise. While you traverse the global in your stolen alien spaceship, time is ticking, and the aliens are preparing their next retaliation or preparing something bigger... But so are you! Your ship is BIG, and has an entire unexplored area to upgrade. You get a cross sectional view of the ship for easy navigation. You can build new facilities, research and build new weapons, armour, utility items, train new soldiers and customise the hell out of them to look proper mean. Towards the end of the game you obtain a different sort of soldier class which are... lets say capable in their own way...

Anyway, i can't recommend this game enough, enjoy!

This was my first ever online card game, I like turn based games to i thought i'd give this a try, I had no idea how to play going in. My first impressions were good. It was difficult enough without being too easy (vs bots), the animations were nice and cleaving 3 creeps with Sven was rewarding.

I should've stuck to bot games. As soon as i joined a public match with my bog standard deck at level 1 i was up against a level 9, not knowing what this meant i continued. I was trampled. Not because of bad strategy, although it left something to be desired, my deck was just obliterated.

The next game was just the same. I have played 24 hours of this, changing up my strategy, my deck etc. to no avail. I won some games but my win rate is pretty abysmal. I bought this after reading some new reviews and a game update about how you can earn cards rather than buy them and also how they balanced some other components. This is not the case.

If you want to win, buy the cards. you will hardly win and will not gain enough XP without no-lifeing this game. Don't misunderstand me, if i wasn't this frustrated by constant ass rape i might buy a couple of new decks, but not anymore. IF you buy the cards buy them and you will trample people like me, also if you're a veteran card game extraordinaire, i would rather pay money to watch you beat these pay-to-win guys with a basic deck!

Play it, it will make you a better person.

Well that was fun.. for about 3 hours.
Sneaking is all that is fun in this game.
Everyone seems to fire rubber bullets!?
AI is beyond aweful, so instead they just throw entire armies at you, which you can easily bottleneck or just walk around them if you like as they might as well be firing putty at you. Oh and by the way armour regenerates, so yeah you are practically in god mode...
If you are 12 get this game you will love it.

This game is incredible, but absolutely brutal. You will not survive, but the longer you do the more intense things become. Zombies are a threat, but only because they attract other players. One blow to the head will knock you out, one or (if you're lucky) two gun shots will kill you. Finding a weapon is difficult but not impossible if you know where to look. The map is, well, it takes hours to run from one side the the other. Do not trust anyone, people are sparce but deadly!
There are no bases except tents which prevent items despawning, everything sounds and looks amazing.

Definitely one of the best survival games out there at the moment.

Now for the bad bits.

People hate on this game so much because they can see its potential, and this frustrates them. The mechanics are weird and broken in places and the engine is old (no multi-core optimisations which leads to poor fps... basically prepare to play at 20 - 30fps on average), that combined with KOS mentality just turns people off.

But still, this 'game' is one of a kind. I recommend playing with someone, preferably someone that can guide you around the map very well. Don't get attached to your gear, you will lose it, or you will get to the point where you won't want to play because you're worried you will lose it, either way YOU WILL LOSE IT. It will take you hours to get it all back and you will lose it all over again, sounds ♥♥♥♥, but this ♥♥♥♥ will give you a hell of a rush.

That rush is why it is worth the money. This game will make you feel alive.
