Its a really fun game with loads of things to progress, explore, and build.
Good cost to play time ratio.
Ground combat is quite fun.
Surprisingly few bugs on launch.

The problem's start however once you find yourself starting to need materials from the deep desert...

Funcom was very adamant that you won't be forced to pvp, And while that's technically true. The games design pretty much makes it unavoidable if you want to progress in any kinda of meaningful or timely way.

The competition for spice in the non pvp area's is so high it makes the resource almost non existent to a normal player and the high spice costs of T6 vehicles, stations, and gear will severely delay if not cripple your progression once you reach that point.

With that said, If (When) you dare to step out into the PvP areas in search of more abundant spice, Know that your going to encounter more griefers than you ever thought possible.

An example of this is if (When) your trying to harvest a large Spice deposit in the deep desert, There will often be over 30 people constantly landing and taking off all around you, All of whom could decide to attack you at any moment while they too try to gather that annoyingly scarce resource know as spice.

With this many people flying all around its obviously almost impossible to keep track of who has malicious intent and those who are just trying to harvest spice in peace. While this is going on above you, You must also be paying very close attention to the ground to make sure the sand worm doesn't eat you and delete everything you own.

This situation creates a playground for Griefers, Who will often times linger in the air and wait till someone has gained the attention of the sand worm just to swoop in and attack them with rockets, disabling their vehicle in seconds just so they can fly away to a safe distance and watch their victim lose everything they own to the worm.

To make maters worse, since most of the griefers have no intention of even trying to loot you or even landing their aircraft unless it's in the safety of their shielded base, They can do all this while wearing basically no personal equipment, tools, or weapons besides maybe a canteen and the attack chopper their driving, While you on the other hand, who is likely playing the game normally, are going to have gear, tools, weapons, ammo, heal kits, a chopper of your own, and not to mention any spice or other high tier resources you've managed to scrounge up currently on your person or vehicle when they attack you.

This creates a low risk, high dopamine reward for the griefers and a high stress, low reward situation for the people playing the game normally.

TLDR, Funcom dropped the ball with the Deep desert and It's likely that a nude griefer driving an attack chopper holding nothing but a canteen between his cheeks is going to swoop in and easily and sustainably destroy hours of your time and effort with very little risk or investment on their part. And then mock you in chat about it on your way out.

TL/DR Highlights.
Practically every character in the game is both interesting and quirky.
It was frankly a joy to exhaust all the unique dialogue options with every NPC i encountered as well as stand around and just listen to the background NPC's chatter.
The level design is fantastic.
Almost every world you enter has beautiful, Varied, And unique art direction and gameplay.

Overall 9/10, would definitely recommend to anyone who is a fan of the first game.

Pros.
Feels just like your picking up right where the first game left off.
The story is pretty great and feel's like a direct continuation of the last game.
Character control feels tight and responsive.
General combat is pretty fun and can be somewhat challenging at times if your not just spamming consumables like a sissy.
Lots of platforming if that's your thing. It's not really punishing if your bad at it.
The attention to small details is also pretty impressive, I highly recommend using your clairvoyance ability on pretty much every NPC you see.

Cons.
A few of the collectibles are kinda annoying to get if your trying to 100% the game
Most of the platforming feels pretty fluid except a few sections where for example you have to change the direction while your swinging on a pole. It felt quite clunky and out of place compared to the rest of the game.
Rarely you can end up missing out on one time only character dialog by either moving to fast threw a area or getting your dialog overridden by random chatter from your character when picking up collectibles. (happened to me like 2 times.)

Negative Highlights ?
A certain section in one of the worlds in the later part of them game (Maybe 10-15 min's long) felt really out of place compared to the rest of the game. It had a quite jarringly different tone to it than the rest of the game and even compared to other parts of that very same world.
The area in question felt very forced to me, Like it was something they suddenly decided on or maybe something they went back and added or changed due to the lack of foreshadowing or anything it had and it honestly felt like it was added just to pander to a group of people of a certain orientation.
Adding to the forced or maybe rushed feeling of this one section of the game, It is also Ironically the only part of the game where i ever noticed you ever needing to turn around while swinging and deal with the clunkiness of having to switch direction while platforming.

Can't recommend this game simply due to the fact that i cant join the same server that i friends who started playing slightly earlier than myself are playing on due to it being permanently locked and considered "Full" and not allowing new characters to be made.

The only way for me and my friends to play together would be for them to abandon their current characters completely that they have 15 + hours into and start new on another less "Full" server with me. /Uninstalled

Its a good game, Especially considering its free. Sorta a similar concept to Dead by daylight. Except the "Victims" have guns and can kill the monster. Especially if their good. You can play as a either a variety of monsters or the group of hunters that are tasked with killing it.

As the monster your generally trying to kill the hunters and destroy some kind of objective.
Generally speaking, Right out the door your a bit weaker than the 4 hunters when the game first begins. But after eating a bunch of random wildlife (Or hunters) for food, You can evolve. And ultimately become powerful enough to hunt the hunters.

As the hunters. Your job is just simply hunt down and kill the monster. Each person on your 4 man team must choose a class and character. Each with a variety of different abilities. Just think of it as apex legends with jet packs. And instead of other humans, Your opponent is a huge fire breathing monster that doesn't give a crap about your ability to do a 360 no scope head shot. And is Instead much more bothered by your ability to keep track of it and relentlessly wear down its health with a never ending barrage of bullets into its back as it tries to get away so it can evolve.
