Ignore my hours here, i bought it from the Slitherine Shop back then.
If you like Hex wargaming this is a no brainer to buy. Definately buy this game.

This is usually not my kind of game ( ARPG's and such ).
However, in all fairness i have to recommend this game to everyone. This Developer is one of a kind, pushing high quality updates and this game here is definately a quality product.

Don't start playing this Game. It's worse than cocaine Addition. Even before Steam i Had thousands of hours and Here again 900... Just don't start playing.

Gary Grigsby War in the West ist ein sog. Wargame, dass vom Prinzip her ein Brettspiel ist. Rundenbasiertes Hardcore Strategiespiel das die komplette(!) Westfront von 1943 - 1945 Simuliert und mit Addon auch die Afrikafront also das Afrikakorps der D. Wehrmacht. Neu dazu gekommen ist im Vergleich zu War in the East eine ausführliche Simulation des Luftkrieges der im Westen einen großen Teil der Kampfhandlungen ausmachte.

Ja im großen und ganzen wird alles mit komplexen mathematische Algorithmen berechnet, jede Division / Brigade / Mil. Einheit ist bis auf jeden einzelnen Panzer/Fahrzeug/Schützentrupp etc. Modelliert und somit wird die Kampfkraft u.a. berechnet. Das Wetter wird natürlich auch genauso simuliert. Im Prinzip ist alles wie in echt auch virtuell Simuliert dargestellt. Moral, Nachschub, usw. Einfach alles. Sehr ausführlich steht das im sehr gut ausgeführten Handbuch.

Das Spiel ist Rundenbasiert. Jede Runde ist eine Woche also 7 Tage ingame Zeit.

Hunderte Stunden Hardcore Strategie, es gibt in diesem Sektor nichts besseres.

I started this series with Silent Hunter 2, an amazing game, up to Silent Hunter 5.

A great, if not the greatest Uboat simulator. I recommend getting the Grey Wolf mod ( GWX ) and for Silent Hunter 5 the wolves of Steel.

Playing both, they are really fun and engaging games, although with a learning curve especially on 100% realism.

Definately recommended. I love those games.

Great Eastern Front Wargame.

Very detailed Game about the biggest conflict in Human history.
This is "game" ( more a simulation ) is very very well researched and you also learn quite a lot about history.

You can play a complete Campaign, or smaller scenarios.
There are 2 DLC's available that are adding a lot of smaller campaigns to the game.

To give you a feeling for how long ( or how much you can play this for ~70-80€ ):

I currently play the Moscow 1941-42 Scenario. It has 29 Turns and is ranging from 30. sept. 1941 - 20. April 1942.

I play this since 3 weeks and have a few turns left. That is quite a lot. There is a lot to do.

This game is relatively "easy" to learn, if you come from a Hoi3'ish background, or any other game with NATO counters, but very very hard to master ( if that is even a thing ).


For anyone recommended that is interested in the Eastern front!
