There are noir themes, but since the game is linear, the detective work is a little unsatisfying. It seems to have lost focus somewhere along the way and the second half is nothing like the first half of the game where you play detective whatsoever. The relationships and characterizations are essentially moot because they are never referenced, exploited, or otherwise implemented into the game. It nearly plays itself due to meaningless choices and the aforementioned lack of social consequences.

Is it a good game? Sort of. Is the story good? Maybe. Could it have been a whole lot better? Absolutely. The art, world, and characters are solid enough that it could have easily succeeded with flying colors by sticking to the simple premise and executing it well.

Shockingly good demo. Dialogue and art are very strong points and maintain the atmosphere perfectly. Score could use some more standout tracks. It's completely forgettable in its current state.

Software really speaks for itself. I think the tag system could use some work due to how impossible it is to escape anime girls, but that doesn't devalue the rest of the great content here.

This game shares the same kind of gameplay loop as Hades, but with more fantasy elements instead of greek/roman mythos. The art is well done. So far the story is alright. The gameplay is really great. It's not as fast paced as I might like, but part of that could be that the game somewhat revolves around getting upgrades and skill points to spec. The only criticism I could give is that the game is not as skill-based as I'd like. It is difficult, but progression is not as related to skill as I'd personally like. Best part of the game by far is that it has coop available; it makes a good game great in my opinion. If you like roguelikes with stories, this is a good one to try.

This game does its take on this genre very well. The dialogue is actually amusing and interesting, but spaced out enough to not be overwhelming. Story and player progression both move at a good pace so that there aren't large periods of uninterrupted gameplay. Two pieces of criticism are that a lot of weapons feel slow and clunky, but that could just be my personal preference for the twin fists. The second is that the art for Aphrodite makes her face look like a man's. Kind of offputting and not what you would want to say about that goddess. Otherwise, the art is gorgeous. If you like roguelikes or games like RoR2, this is probably a good pickup.

Update: After about 12 hours I have cleared the final boss twice over the course of 21 runs. There is still a lot of replay value due to the heat system and minor story elements. And of course, giving Cerberus as much nectar I can muster.

A little hard to get into at first, but worth the effort. Good mod support, too. It's pretty hard and has a good amount of room for growth and optimization.
